To make the most of any new boiler , and the cost saving bibs listed, you need to get or do a heat loss calculation for the house and individual rooms. Without you a just putting your finger in the air and guessing. With the right size boiler and the best modulation / controls to suit your use of the home, you will definitely see a big saving over the existing. To big a boiler and no ability to modulate down to the lowest heat loss the house requires, basically means you are burning more gas than you need and cycling, wear and tear on the system Regarding which brand , all of the above are good. Heat engineers/ plumbers stick with what they know and like. Boiler reliability generally comes from regular servicing and design/running correctly. Megaflow and all unvented tanks require a safety service done yearly with the boiler, don’t bother claiming if you can’t supply proof. If moving from gravity to pressurised you do raise the chance of some leaking / failed joints. agree with other’s , BG is to risky , have seen some very iffy jobs when connected to existing pipe work, plus their idea of a power flush is laughable ( human element). Introduction to the Elise - Cup 250, Sport 220, older model?
elise 147 replied to cib24's topic in Elise / Exige Chat
I have the 265 Komotec kit fitted to my 2015 S club Racer, carried out during 2020 , completed about 5k miles.car currently on 26K. My setup included 2Tublar complete system and Cat, with all the remaining parts Komotec. Fitted in the UK by H111; rolling road recorded 255bhp and 199 lb ft torque there are a few completed 220/250 cup in the uk showing between 255/265bhp, to be honest it drives much better than when it was standard 217 bhp,The idle and town driving feel much smoother and the power has a solid smooth push to the limiter. did I really need the extra power ,probably not , but it is a great addition with no negatives regarding the mods, the numbers don’t reflect how much more go the car can deliver. FYI, Super unleaded is a requirement on this kit. Regarding noise all ZR engines with the complete system are noisy, mine is acceptable for the long journeys for holiday etc but not for the quieter track day circuits. Gear change on my car is lovely and slick, it doesn’t have the post 17.5 engineered feel but I am more than happy. 195 tyres are fine on the standard 6” rims which all supercharged S3 220 came on , will move to them this year as 175 unavailable or getting on date wise. if in doubt stick with OEM spec, as I said before I probably didn’t work the original hard enough , let alone the new increased power setup. happy hunting, Stephen -

Hi Chris, sorry for leaving it a bit late, but can you add Kim and I to the booking if not too late. Look forward to seeing everyone after such a long time. Stephen -
All booked, staying locally for the 3 days. This is a great event, the organisation over the whole period has to be applauded. My better half had the accommodation booked as soon as the dates were released. Great video, really makes you want to be part of the fun. Best way to enjoy yours and others Lotus Cars. S&K

13 Sep Breakfast at Dave & Megan's
elise 147 replied to ChrisJ's topic in UK - Essex/Herts/Cambs Group
Hi @Kevjp, we are coming in from Hertford and can meet at Pearces Farm lay-by for 8:30. If anything changes just post, will keep an eye out. Looking forward to seeing everyone! -
@Mark030358 made me smile 🙂 Great to have car back, The Dash and Camera both from Dave at S/Lotus is even better than I had hope for.Just need to adjust camera slightly but works perfectly. The binnacle is finished the same as the OEM version. It photos lighter than viewing with the naked eye. Most people wouldn't even notice that you have changed anything. The Komotec upgrade has definitely given the car some serious get up and go for an Elise. Overall very happy with the upgrades.

Sorry guys & girls, currently without car , not sure if we will have it back for this meet. so concentrating on work , ready to pay the bill . S&K -
Thanks for that , will be an interesting read ,it is a more serious upgrade with a totally new ecu , which is the only way the tuners are dealing properly with the 250 cup. There are a number of 250cup owners on the Facebook site that have had the the full exhaust systemS and have had mil lights on due to emissions codes and fuelling issues.
-
The 250 cup model doesn’t seem to be as easy to retune as the original cup 220 & the normal model Elise with the 2zr engines. The ecu is the issue, I believe it’s the encryption Stopping total access, Komotec kits direct or via H111 are not listing the 250 model , You mention RRR they use the Ecumaster Ecu to great affect However so does Komotec and H111 , the only thing to remember is the ecu will have a different traction control system to the original, this may not bother some people , but it depends on what the car is for road/ Track From my experience it’s best to use one company or at least confirm prior to cherry picking parts etc. I have Jim’s complete system for my car, however to have the ecu tuned by Komotec I would have to go to Germany as it was not available in the uk to me. Gutted as I was due there 2 weeks ago but There’s more important issues at the moment .

Exposed Shifter Conversion
elise 147 replied to LotusCup's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC/Other
Unfortunately it’s totally different and the parts required are not cheap, couple of the the exige v6 guys have updated to the exposed shifter , they had the work done at HPE I believe. -
So sorry to hear of your loss Chris, Stephen & Kim
-
Got the same issue as you at the moment . Coolant level dropped to the same level as you stated and is never the same now; can be higher / lower by 1cm . Going back to H111 this Friday for the safety recall plus this to be fixed. This is the first time in probably 8 coolant changes I have seen this happen so it can be sorted. It’s not just a case of topping up as soon as pressure rises in the system it is ejected out via the black pipe , indicator there is air trapped.

Oh joy , stinking cold /sore throat has arrived to ruin my weekend plans, if by a miracle tomorrow morning I feel a lot better , we will attend and enjoy your company & breakfast. Stephen -
Just to clarify some points on your original post, the Komotec Upgrades phase 2&3 are complete kits with altered files reflashed via the OBD port to the original Ecu plus hardware. They are the only changes ,everything else stays as OEM. Ie traction / stability control, idle etc. The only other option is a replacement ecu and new mapping and the hardware to complete, this would move you much further away from your stated goal, if you are tracking seriously all be it a limited number each year , I would agree with the above 220/250 cup or exige however if it’s more for the road I would stick with what you have , I have 2015 s3 the only thing that let it down was the exhaust note and to be honest the parts that made up the complete system, they work , but on a car like these they deserve a bespoke setup , and there lies the rub , you require the new ecu info to enjoy there benefits. on the 17.5 year cars like Neals they sound great from the factory. plus ,most mods costs will not be realised if you wish to sell and insurance has to be considered . last of all ,the cups cars look amazing ,and I came very close to buying Neals car ( best Colour), but if you go to places as we do for our holiday etc there no way the Aero kit would remain intact . After doing the bronze / silver days at Lotus the standard setup is more than capable for my ability’s on the road.
