  6. ***** Thanks......... Ref A)......... Mr. v.d. Kooi is a kind of born "showmaster". The number of 20 came today from a (very reliable) source........and free from the "exaggeration" that (forgivably) the proud owner (of course) could handle .........who can check him? Ref B).......The announcement of v.d. Kooi himself said the day before: .......Om teleurstelling tijdens het evenement te voorkomen: het prototype zal deze middag (goed zichtbaar) achter een lint staan, er kan dus niet in de auto worden gezeten of gereden........ ......To avoid disappointment during the event: the prototype will be (highly visible) behind a ribbon this afternoon, so it is not possible to sit or drive in the car........
  7. ***** I did attend the presentation today......a fantastic happening...........I assume that you will see more pictures etc. on their Facebook site from next Monday on. Many, many....... many people over there..........a slightly excited atmosphere all the showroom and workshop over 50 Lotus'es........ the Emira and many other fantastic Lotus cars. Drinks, food, workshops etc. ..........a fantastic achievement of Mr v.d. Kooi, the offcial Dutch Lotus importer..... He is a good organiser and showman. In spite of previous announcements the Emira FE6 was free to walk around, touch, opening of doors and rear hatch......... and taking place behind the steering wheel. It must be said it is a nice car, better than the pictures; I think it will become a succes!. Lotus Holland has approx. 20 pre-orders***, almost all AMG 4 types, since due to environmental regulations the V6 will be approx. € 30.000,- / GBP 26.000,- more expensive in taxes than the 4i........ ***) This is a relatively high number of pre orders for The Netherlands where during 2010-2021 only approx. 20 new Evora's were sold.
  8. ***** She has arrived in the Netherlands........can be seen today from 13 -17 v.d. Kooi-Houten
  9. ***** More Emira interior pictures from Fort Lauderdale USA gathering............
  10. ***** The Evora has got it's magnesium steering wheel just in time.......😃
  11. ***** FIRST MICROCHIPS, NOW MAGNESIUM 'COMPLETE EUROPEAN AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY MAY STOP DURING SHORTAGES' It has been crises saving lately, also in the car industry. In addition to the chip shortage, there is now a shortage of a material that the car industry cannot do without: magnesium. Experts take into account quite a doomsday scenario. The lost car production due to lockdowns has already been completely overshadowed by the effect of the global chip shortage. As a result, the car industry is already largely on hiatus and hordes of people worldwide are waiting a long time for their new car. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, it threatens to go one step further. Industry analysts are sounding the alarm about magnesium deliveries from China in conversation with the Financial Times. Magnesium is essential in the production of aluminum, which in turn is needed on a large scale for building cars. Without magnesium, therefore, no cars. By far the most magnesium for the European car industry comes from China. However, there is an energy crisis and factories are now also temporarily closed. The magnesium industry is also being hit hard by this and industry analyst Amos Fletcher of research firm Barclays outlines that this could have huge consequences in a short time: "If the magnesium supply stops, the entire car industry could be forced to shut down." According to Fletcher, this could still happen this year, according to the words of the German association of metal producers, WVM. That warns, according to Reuters. that stocks can quickly dwindle. "Current stocks in Germany and all of Europe will be exhausted by the end of November." Only 15 of the 50 magnesium plants in China are now said to be operational, even at half power. If it stays that way long enough, it may become even quieter in the car factories. WVM: "With a bottleneck of such proportions in the supply, there is a threat of huge production loss in all sectors in the aluminum chain, such as the car industry (...)." Google translation:
  12. ***** Indeed.......the carbon tax is terrible in the Netherlands.... Nevertheless I was the guy that purchased this last in the Netherlands available new GT 410 Sport IPS in April this year. I paid a lower price, however still a lot of money......GBP 118.500,- (todays exchange rate) and traded in my '90 Esprit Turbo SE (in immaculate condition) for GBP 31.875,- I am extremely happy with this GT 410 Sport, which I purchased new after being the 2nd Esprit owner for 28 years. I am retired, 78 years old and also have a Mazda Renesis RX-8 HP, a Mazda 2 1,5 GTM and a 1975 Honda Goldwing GL1000 K1 ( with 11.000 mls.) that I overhauled from 2015-2016 (1.200 hrs labour), still as new. In 2016 my Goldwing was rewarded by the NGW USA as "Bike of the Year 2016" with an overwhelming 26% of the votes among 12 participants.
  13. ***** @ Kimbers That is very pity to you this new situation........ I wish you all the best both with the near future and the sales of your beautiful Evora....... Kind regards, Ruud
  14. ***** Straight from my heart......!! I lived 28 years (from 50-78 years of age) with my 1990 LHD Esprit Turbo was a memorable love story. In April 2021 I traded her in for the last available new "2021" GT 410 Sport IPS in the Netherlands.......there are a total of 3 GT 410 Sport's now in the Netherlands and approx. 20 other new Evora types sold by the Dutch Lotus importer v.d. Kooi between 2010 and 2021. The GT 410 Sport cost you a rib off your body with the resp. official MSRP's of GBP 155k in 2018 and GBP 137k in 2019. I felt lucky to step in with a that time GBP 7,65k reduced price of GBP 118,5k......for my Esprit I received GBP 32k. ......a total investment of < GBP100k My Esprit was sold by v.d. Kooi within 1 week for GBP 38.250,- to a Ferrari + TVR owner. 🙄 It was difficult to trade in my perfect Esprit; especially because of my age and long time of ownership and love relation........however buying my (probably) last Lotus was a real challenge and I did it. I am very, very happy with the GT is extremely exclusive in the was my 1st "automatic" car with my between 1-1,5 million miles car history.....I feared the IPS, however I had to take it because it was part of the I am very, very happy with this IPS and his peddels.....I can drive the Evora both as a "man of age" and as a "youngster". I was aware of the coming Emira but felt better with the Evora GT 410 Sport which was the last and most improved felt bombproof......furthermore I did not want to wait 1-2 years and to be confronted eventually with possible initial and small quality problems (sorry). And a Porsche would never be the car I would desire.
  15. ***** Indeed, the integrated Evora 410 solution looks far more better than the "glued on"' single tablet in the Evora. The whole Evora instr.panel looks far more balanced and fit for purpose. I expect that 3rd parties modification sets will be offered after some time for the Evora since this a weak design point imho.
  16. ***** Orgasmic sound of 4-rotor Mazda 787B Le Mans winner in 1991...the only year rotary engines were allowed to participate.....immediately thereafter the FIA banned the rotary engine and Mazda could not participate any more. All in all, rotary is probably the best engine for racing. 930hp at 10500 rpm......2,6 ltr. without forced induction.......358 hp per ltr The engine was very reliable and if necessary the same engine could race another 24 hrs.
  17. ***** Chevrolet Corvette C8 3LT Z51 Performance Carbon Magnetic Ride Lift GBP 171742,- 😃
  18. ***** It is a beautiful Evora..........I can imagine that you are very happy with it. I wish you a lot of safe miles and fun!
  19. ***** What do you think........ I have noticed in the past that new models of all kind of manufacturers that from the first instance were nearly 100% beautiful and perfect in the end were disappointing during their life cycle in relation with their sales succes. It just seems that new models with some less initial overwhelming beauty did actually better because that model comprised often some (hidden) kind of "character" that was increasingly attracting unexpected numbers of buyers over the years........ I wish Lotus really good luck with the new Emira however think it could be possible that the aforementioned would be the case with the new Emira and people get bored of it relatively quickly. The Evora for instance is not the prettiest girl on the dance floor imho but has that that indefinable x factor and maturity that made him more and more attractive over the years, certainly now during it's final stage.
  20. +++++ Even since the Emira is introduced for me in each case the further ultimately developed and refined Evora GT 410 Sport with IPS............ It is a bomb safe combination...... Sorry, personally as with other car brands I would not buy any new Lotus model in the first 2-3 years of production.
  21. ***** As the age-old saying goes, always leave them wanting more. That certainly seems to be the case with the Lotus Evora GT which, as it heads towards the end of production, has set several significant sales records in the United States.
  22. ***** Do you remember that..?........with all those car emission controls California was leading.......😒 Will be tuning of the Emira by private persons in the next years less plausible......? Some folks on social media have started to post about a new California smog testing procedure that is supposed to check for modified or non-CARB compliant software in vehicle ECUs, which I did some digging into. Using the link posted at the bottom of the screenshots I’ve seen, I followed it back to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair’s smog FAQ page, where the confirmation was clear as day: California is indeed going to start sniffing for tunes during smog checks.
  23. ***** Total amount new sales / sold Porsche and Lotus units In the Netherlands.......... TOTAL PORSCHE Porsche 911 5.724 Porsche Boxster 1.014 Porsche 718 373 Porsche Cayman 327 Porsche 918 8 LOTUS EVORA | NEW SALES TOTAL 20212019201120101236 JAAR AANTAL 2021 1 2019 2 2011 3 2010 6 NEW SALES SINCE 1983 Merk Totaal Lotus Elise 87 Lotus Exige 24 Lotus Evora 12
  24. ***** Moreover the GT / 410 / 430's are the final results after intensive modifications on the 1st Evora ref. specification, performance, handling and especially reliability. Several road tests of the last years are all very, very positive. It now already is recognized as the last true Lotus. Imo it will take years for the new Emira to reach the same level as the Evora finally has. We all know that new Lotus models have their issues / problems to be eliminated in the following years. I find the Emira a nice car from the outside, especially the back however a little "Caymannish" which I absolutely dislike. The interior for me is to fancy, the added 2nd display looks as it is glued to the dashboard and can fall of. You can expect that in later versions it will become embedded very nicely as with the Evora. I just recently did purchase a new (the last Dutch imported) GT 410 Sport and this is the 3rd GT 410 in the Netherlands. There are only 20 officially Lotus imported and 15 side imported (2nd hand) in the Netherlands now. In the next years this will remain a very exclusive car amongst many, many Emira's That's the way I like it........
  25. No, no, no.........! But you can have chrome cupholders....... And last but not least..........a true "lane-assist"...,,,,,
