Unauthorised use of Lotus Logo
bingoking replied to bingoking's topic in LEGS - Lotus Enthusiasts Group Scotland's Topics
My understanding is that it is the fact that the word LOTUS has been replaced by the word LEGS which makes it distorted. To use the new Lotus Logo we would need to have a trade mark licence from Lotus to use it. I thought it best to take down the distorted logo and in the short term replace it with a Saltire. @C8RKH Andy, I think if you were to distort the PORSCHE logo by replacing that word with another e.g. PORKER, the folks in Stuttgart would have something to say about it. Intellectual property is a big thing to large corporations. In my business many years ago one of my Man -
October breakfast meet
bingoking replied to Andrew C's topic in LEGS - Lotus Enthusiasts Group Scotland's Topics
Hi Andrew, I am not sure given the restrictions in Scotland on meeting up with other households that we can organise a meet this weekend. Here is a copy of an email I received from Ed Foster at The Rhynd Cafe near Leuchars. Nothing to stop folks from going out for a drive independently and stopping by for a coffee and bacon butty! Weather dependent I may go out for a drive around Fife on Sunday morning.. Hope you're well, and getting through lockdown OK. As you might have guessed, with current restrictions, we can't officially organise Bacon and Brakes this Sunday mo -

I have mislaid my handbook and wondered if a GTE owner can advise on tyre pressures for road use. Fronts 235/35/19 Rears 275/30/20 Thanks in advance.

That’s a pity, we’re heading North to Braemar in the Motorhome on Friday. We could have met up with your group at Duns with a Lotus this time. Enjoy your trip and the museum.

Met up with this lovely group of people and their cars at services on M6 North on Wednesday. @Kevin WheelerHope the rest of the trip goes well and the weather improves for you. What day are you at the Jim Clark Museum?

Brilliant idea, I'll be there with my bacon roll and coffee. -
@BigErch Archie Buchanan now has this car I believe.

If you would like to be added to this group please PM your mobile number to me with your forum screen name please. I intend using this to advise LEGS members where our monthly breakfast meets are. This will not replace the Forum posts or the PM’s I send out. Some of you are not receiving email notifications so I thought the WhatsApp group would improve communication with LEGS members. Brian

The March breakfast meet will be at Mannerstons near Linlithgow https://mannerstons.co.uk/find/. We have been here a few times and they serve a fantastic breakfast. It is the default location if nothing else organised as is the case this month. Meet at the usual time for 10:00am and please don’t wait for everyone to arrive before heading in for breakfast, they are usually quite busy so any tyre kicking and car park chat I would suggest is left until after breakfast. Unfortunately I won’t make this one as I will be on the piste! Have a good one and hopefully the weather will be k

Our second meet this year will be in the west at The Tea house on the Loch in Drumpellier County Park Tea House on the Loch Lochend Road G69 8BE Glasgow As it is still winter let's not go to far just in case there is any white stuff falling from the sky and this spot is just off the main roads. It is also dog friendly they do gluten free food all points covered. As always get your names down please just to help with catering.

Sorry for the late notice on the change of venue from Mannerstons to The Rhynd Cafe near Leuchars for breakfast tomorrow. Usual time 10:00am to midday. We were there last month and the breakfast was fantastic and a good selection of cars attending, Lotus and other makes. Hopefully there won't be as much water on the road this week and if you left your email with the Cafe last month you will have had an update from them on their efforts to have the road improved. If I make it tomorrow (bit under the weather today) , I won't be in a Lotus as they are all SORN'd. Kind regards

It will be very interesting to see what Komo-Tec do with #20 and whether they will retail it or have they bought it on behalf of a customer. If the latter we might never know what the re-sale price is and the true value. It certainly won't be re-sold at £69k (circa. €80). What will the on the road costs be in Germany, will they have to charge VAT for example? £69k is not a true reflection of the value of this car or any of the original 20 GTE's produced by Lotus.

I still own the car and it’s with this dealer on sale or return so if it doesn’t sell this time I will keep it.

Good luck. You will obviously be looking for a LHD. Mine is #8 a RHD and is for sale here at this dealership.
