  1. After adding the deck and the 380 Cup wing I got some info relating to body supports that compensate for the extra force applied to the body. These brackets add strength to stop flexing if not fitted you may stand a chance of splitting the body as I think Imran did. They attach to the body using the reverse light/fog light fixing bolts. These are a Lotus part, available from your favourite parts dealer, although one is on back order, cheers
  2. Deposit down this afternoon πŸ‘ If I like it I have a decision to make, if not money back... win win so to speak.
  3. I got 10% off the other day.. jackpot
  4. The anti theft switch is located in a secret position, cant tell you. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ its in the glove box, lower right hand side... I'd check the "pencil" is making a good contact with the brass ring.....
  5. WoW Another trip to Mendig πŸ€”.....
  6. I like to mention companies that do a good job and give credit where credit is due. Sent a +2 propshaft to Firow Propshafts, https://www.firowpropshafts.co.uk (contact Mark Rowley 01477 535960) to have it shortend, balanced and painted. I have no affiliation whatsoever. They had it just around 10 days and it came back today. I am delighted with the quality, finish and speed of service, just excellent. Even the return packageing was top notch. By the way 72cm fact to face when compressed. Here are a few shots Cheers Mark
  7. My "theft" tracker monitors the battery voltage all the time, not sure it alarms though when drops below a threshold. It does if its disconnected as I get a call off the tracking company. cheers
  8. Gas struts fitted to carbon deck. So anyone else wanting to do the same I'll share what I did. 1) Measure 22.5" from the top of the deck (outside of the hinge) down the cabon channel and pencil mark. 2) Get two off aluminium 6mm ID threaded ball studs (SGS link here https://www.sgs-engineering.com/x2-ball-extension) 3) Get a packet of rivnuts, I used aluminium instead of steel. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rivnuts-Aluminium-Cylindrical-Grooved-Flat-Head-M4-M10/253962168034?var=553283995893 4) Put a small pilot drill through, the a 9mm on for the final size. 5) use a home made rivnut tool and tighten up. 6) Fit struts, jobs a carrot and works really well. cheers Mark
  9. Just fitted one of these... JVC KD-X561DBT reasonable sound, DAB and reverse screen if you want it, all single din.
  10. George, How did you mount the gas struts to the carbon deck? I can see the channel running the length of the deck but its pretty thin and with a big wing there is a lot of weigh at the rear. Did you add any strengthening or just plain old rivnuts? thanks
  11. @hamks18psiTop work!, How did you bring the wires out of the cap and do you have a picture of that? cheers Mark
  12. @Fridge Bought an insert, M12x1,25 to M10x1.5 and fits perfectly. I did mean to do a follow up post, thanks for the thread bump. cheers Mark
  13. Hi @exeterjeep, think I’m out of luck with that, the top is flattened out too much. I ordered a thread adapter off Amazon today, took a punt at the internal thread size. thanks
  14. @TAR the stick I have is M10 for sure, but the thread inside the knob is possibly 12mm, the hole diameter is around 11mm, thus tapping drill hole size suggests an M12 fine thread, but I cant get my thread gauges in to be certain. thanks for the reply appreciated. Mark
  15. That’s the knob ok, it’s just the internal thread I need. Might have to make/buy an adaptor. is yours in good condition? cheers
  16. Hi all, First post here as I don't have an Elite/Eclat/Excel but an Elan Sprint. So I'm doing a 5 speed conversion and bought a wooden 5 speed knob from ebay, thinking it was from a +2 Elan, however its not as the internal thread is much larger so wondering if its from an Esprit/Eclat/Excel/Elite. To me looks like a metic fine thread, 12mm at a guess, so can anyong confirm the thread size? cheers Mark ps putting in Esprit section too.

  18. Try Banks for everything Europa
  19. excellent mate, great choice πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. As for the OEM cats, it is not uncommon, even on stndard cars for these discs to braek up and end up back in the engine. Better to ditch them for the small cost when upgrading. And I have to agree with @GFWilliams re Komotec reliability. cheers Mark
  21. Interesting read, but prices for some are a bit off, Β£50K wouldn't buy you my Elan or a few other Elans that I know. For me it would have to be an Elise, closley followed by the Elite ...... just my 2p
