  1. @David6 Ok its a bit like this. +12vdc from the fuse to the horns, the return wire ends up in a double bullet connector under the dash. One wire runs off to the anti theft s/w and the other runs up into the steering column and connects to a brass ring at the top of the steering column. This is connected to the horn push by a โ€œhorn pencilโ€. When the horn is pushed the +12vdc goes from the brass ring, up the pencil, through the horn push to ground. Id check the upper part of the column for good connections. The column is earthEd at the bottom where it enters the rack. There is usually a jumper wire between the UJ joint if it is one of the plastic ones. But I guess your issue will be in the horn push. As a test set your meter to ohms and connect between the column in the engine compartment and the chassis, you should see a short circuit (zero ohms). Now remove the plastic indicator stalk covers and measure the resistance between the column in the engine bay and the column near the steering wheel as you can now get to it. Again this should be zero ohms. If good then you need to remove the horn switch, remove the pencil (cant remember if you can or cant). Now carefully measure to see if you have 12vdc between the brass ring and earth. If so either pencil or horn push is fubar. hope that helps ๐Ÿ‘ Try Lotus (electrical section) for more help cheers Mark
  2. @Exx I'm not saying that. I would get it checked out by a specialist first. Mine has been looked at and thats the diagnosis. cheers
  3. @Exx Hi, Drag is where the clutch does not release fully. As I said, if it does not go in, try putting it into 3rd they try again, donโ€™t force it too much. I have exactly the same issue and Iโ€™m having a new clutch fitted this month, my clutch has 8000 miles on it so not very happy. Even though I have the KT upgrade (from 4000 miles) the car has not been abused ever. Cheers
  4. Sorry folks, it sounds $ hit and probably smells of ozone. I think I have seen the best of the best motoring years over the last 40 or so. The smell of two stroke oil, the smell of synthetic oil as it cools, noisy exhausts, dump valves popping, stuff that your senses can smell, hear and feel..... Electrification just does nothing for me no matter how โ€œcoolโ€ the car looks. Now if this car had been fitted with a NA V12, THEN it would be a proper super car. Just my 2p
  5. Sounds like a Dragging clutch if all other gears OK? You could try adjusting the gate at the bottom of the stick first, then the cables. Try going into 3rd gear, then into reverse see if that helps. cheers
  6. I think โ€œa lotโ€ of people would like this and I have to agree with you that a selectable range would be a massive plus. However AIM must also consider other users too. Also for taller drivers who canโ€™t see the shift lights, a way similar to the existing dash design of displaying RPM levels would be a bonus too. cheers
  7. Have to reiterate what the guys above are saying... Happy Ex-460 owner here. But beware, you will need a clutch at some point...
  8. That looks a top top top job. Paint finish looks superb. ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘
  9. Very brave... it will look excellent I'm sure๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  10. @David6 To be fair my handbrake is excellent... I guess if the body has been off the bolt has been put in the wrong way round. I see you have posted on That is the best forum for these cars, no offence TLF ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ cheers Mark
  11. @David6 Not sure why you have to lift the body.?? However there is a fixing brace across the strut towers, remove the carpet to reveal it. Also two bolts behind the dash going into the chassis tunnel. Also the seat belts etc etc will stop movement. Have a look at these attachments, may help. cheers mark
  12. @Screem didn't see that one, but there is a 570GT with 800ish miles on it for what is not a lot more than a specced up 430 New&onesearchad=Used&radius=1500&make=MCLAREN&sort=price-desc&price-from=500&model=570GT&postcode=ch642xq&page=1. To be honest, just canvassing opinion as I've never been in one, I think its called "window shopping". I watched JayEmms videos on Maccas and his reviews don't show then in a good light to be honest. Just looking for an owners view. BUT you can't beat a Kw Green 430 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ cheers
  13. Anybody on here had both or driven both? Would be interested in your feedback.... thanks
  14. @Elise 147 That looks good, a better finish than the first batch. Camera picture looks good while the location of the camera had me lost for a while as most I've seen are fitted low down. Spot on. cheers
  15. @elise 147Elise just re-read the post. I guess KY and KT both work out of the box ๐Ÿ˜† Hows the car???
  16. @Mark.A Thanks, found the thread. Strange I missed something like that. cheers Mark
  17. Hi, Quick question, the rear seal on my roof has just fell off after being of the car for 6 months. The Lotus non sticky sticky tape is no longer sticky. Just trying to work out which way round the seal fits back on. To me the lip (1 in the Photo) looks like it should cover the roof head lining. While I am resuming No.3 in the photo is where the sticky tape should attach to. And No.2 faces into the car. Can someone help with a photo or two please. thanks Mark
  18. @elise 147 On another Mac (faulty one) I'm running VM fusion. Not tried that with RS3 though. Ohhhh sounds like a fun day tomorrow, enjoy. KY kit works straight out of the box...... its excellent. cheers Mark
  19. @elise 147 Hi mate, yep Windows 10 and parallels on my machine worked just fine, no issues at all. You just need a bit of practice with the RS3 software as its not the most obvious. cheers
