  1. With Jep on this one, firm believer In keeping any car, especially a lotus as it came out the factory, parts and the colour of the same. In this case the wheels. Who said they dont like diamond cut wheels on a Evora are they mad. Loved the silver 18/19 that it came from the factory on my NA but love the bigger 19/20 on my latest Evora even more.
  2. My old NA always looked stunning from the rear.
  3. We all have our own opinions on the damage on public health the virus is having on the general public and rightly so. But for Barry to constantly try to down play the dangers of the virus is not what the members of this forum needs and sadly his comments are surely not hopeful to people on here that have lost family and friends to the said virus. Moderator’s did say his opinion’s where not helpful in his early comments of this thread, what’s changed apart from a a lot more hardship, poor health and sadly deaths since? Its not about politics and its not to be joked about.
  4. A bit late to stump up? He actuality went public and voiced opinion the day after the Abu Dhabi GP and what he did say it more like watching WWE than a professional sport. He is really a true motorsport enthusiast. But there you go lets just shoot him down him flames for being a Labour Peer. Grow up Keith.
  5. Still having strong ties to Red Bull i did not expect for him to say anything different. What Ruud did miss out probably on purpose that Coulthard did say that Verstappen would would have not won the championship in a clean manner in the way the Lewis as won his previous 7 championship’s and he won in the manner that Senna and Schumacher won there titles and in a true enthusiast that involved a lot of cheating. Sadly for Lewis it was not only his main competitor that cheated the FIA got involved in the same tactics.
  6. Having been very critical of Harris thoughts of the brand over the last few years. For me its great that he is saying some positive things at last. Not long now before the journalist get there chance to tell the world how good Emira is, fingers crossed. His views on any car do matter especially when lotus are hoping to bring new customers from other brands. So who cares? Lotus definitely do.
  7. Not my car the owner of the car was a member on TLF but sure he as sold the car on again. 👍 That will be me on the next MLOC run lol Have a good Christmas pal and hopefully see you out on run in the new year.
  8. Wow for me I don’t believe we are having a debate about a little badge on the dashboard on such a historic car and probably the best car the company as built for some time now into the future, sure there are better things to talk about for potential customers when they do come for sale, lets face it its not going to be very often. They are definitely going a 6 figure number car again in not the to distant future.
  9. Going against the general love for the original S1s here and will probably be criticised for my honest opinion about the same car. Not here to say how many lotus i have had before, i have had more than a few.I was lucky to be in position back in 2009 to be a early deposit holder for a launch Edition and was looking forward to take delivery that same year. Luckily for me i did get a drive one of the first dealership cars and realised it was not the car I wanted even then it felt underpowered coming from a 260 Exige Sprint probably clouded my judgment even though the Evora was something that a lotus owner as never experienced before when it came to comfort and a ride like a flying carpet. For me thankfully after some arguments i did get my deposit back. Moving forward to my ownership experience in the last few years after going through a divorce and not wanting to miss my love for the brand i had to sell my new at the time 250 Cup and purchase what I thought was probably one of the best S1s at the time for the going market price and still believe the car is one the best out there and still believe this is true. Now for bad news as much as i liked the car it still felt underpowered and occasionally the car at the limit did scare me, some brisk driving on Sunday mornings runs with other Lotus enthusiast never gave me much engorgement. For me i am in a lucky position to have a GT410sport now and yes its a lot more powerful and it sounds awesome for me its the handling that is the big difference between the two cars it’s night and day so much better.
  10. Stunning Jon, can not wait to see some content on One Eleven Cars YouTube channel and hopefully have a run out with you in the Peak District in the new year.
  11. Happy birthday pal 👍
  12. Totally agree Russell is and will be a fantastic driver and will probably Challenge Verstappen in the future for world championships as will Norris, Sainz, Leclerc given equal equipment. What frustrates me Lewis as shown his world championship potential from day one in his first year he embarrassed the all mighty Fernando Alonso and the idiot as never got over that till this day and the pundits still go to great lengths how good he his well he got beat by a rookie in 2007 and people still question Lewis’s ability what a joke. For me Russell will be a great asset to Mercedes next season he is for sure a better driver the Bottas and will only benefit the team to win the world championship for driver and manufacturer, will he challenge Lewis? yes for sure on occasions but over a season you have to say no. Lets just embrace what what we have seen in the last 15years for me the best Racing Driver off all time full stop. Lewis as definitely had more support for being a good loser than being a lucky winner in the last week.Lets hope he gets his 8th championship next year and then call’s it day, what more does he have to prove?.
  13. Totally agree the Five Stratton cars are probably closer to the original concept than the 20 the factory produced cars and yes a bargain compared to the silly prices some dealers are asking for SRs at the moment.
  14. The winner today is obviously Verstappen? yes but for me the biggest winner is Liberty Media and there partnership with Netflix and sadly for me it felt more contrived than a episode of Coronation Street.
  15. Not sure it will in the world of Netflix’s
  16. I would not put it past Red Bull to do a Renault 2008 Singapore and deliberately crash one of there other three cars to bring the safety car out so Verstappen gets a free pit stop to get him of the red softer tyres. Red Bull will do anything inside and outside the rules to win this Championship.
  17. Great run out today on a nice winter day. A very good reason not to sorn in the winter months. The exhaust note seemed to be on a different level not sure way, thinner air on a cold December day?
  18. Tiff Needells thoughts on Verstappens driving.
  19. LV is my insurer and have been for a good few years. Yes i am happy with the annual premium that i have to pay and the service they provide, thankfully i have not have to make a claim thats where things could change?. There are so many variables that come into play with car insurance providers and being in my 60s and what i think is ok postcode has its benefits especially when it comes to renewal. I am not going to put the figure on the amount that i pay as i do think at times it can be misleading, yes it is cheap for the reason mentioned above. The only advice i can give is shop around, use the comparison site’s most good insurance company’s are there and yes for obviously reason they are not always the cheapest but there are some competitive rates to be had.
  20. Great informative video, watching the Emira on Hethel’s test track with the touring settings for me it looks like it as a fair bit of body roll and as been said many times similar to the S1 Evora. Having owned both a S1 Evora and the latest GT410sport, for me i would be going for the sport settings, on fast B road driving it gives you so much more feedback and confidence even at the lower limits of ability’s of the car and it as to be said the harder ride of the sports suspension is still fantastic for even the most poorly maintained roads that we have been accustomed in this day and age.
  21. Same can be said without Lewis it would be one of the most boring seasons ever and regarding dirty driving Verstappen was obviously looking for contact at Brazil just like he was at Monza, its something he seems to strife on the thought of being invisible so yes it’s obvious given the slightest opportunity he would take Lewis out and thats the difference from a multiple championship winning driver and one that’s never won a championship in his entire career. The most successful driver in F1 history as the ability to read the moment and jump out the way of a manoeuvre that was reckless attempt to take him out the race. Sorry haven’t got a clue what you are talking about dirtiest most dangerous piece of driving all year, Max needs to take a lesson from a multiple world champion then one day he might win something.
  22. Please share your most iconic Exige V6 video and what it will be remembered for. This is my contribution.
  23. Totally agree with the struggle you see about where the hype comes from about Max, he as never won a championship even in the lower category’s. Lewis came into f1 with championships under his belt and with probably the best driver in F1 at the time Alonso as a teammate, beat him in is rookie year something Alonso as never got over and what he did in qualifying in Hungary 2007 his something that is cut from the same cloth of dirty tactics that you get from Verstappen. Will Max ever change? Well he will probably win his first championship in his long motoring racing career this year will it change as a driver and a person probably not he will will always leave that nasty taste in your mouth for true f1 enthusiast. The sport as become even more toxic than even football, thanks one team and its senior management and its No1 driver who strangely in some peoples eyes is the best F1 driver ever. Thanks Christian, Helmut and Max, lets hope the junior categorys are seeing through what you stand for. Flavio Briatore was a nasty piece of work in his time in F1 but those mentioned above make him look like angel.
  24. Yes 25 places made up over the weekend, love him or hate him there can be argument it was a drive of a champion and yes probably it cements he is the best ever 🤷the the history of F1
