S4s rolling restoration project
Giniw replied to tomcattom's topic in Esprit 'Project & Restoration' Room
(I am a bit late to the party, but don't forget to reset the ECU BLM) -
Is it?! In 285/35? edit: It's not listed in 285/35/18 though? https://www.yokohamatire.com/tire-search/by-size/235/40/17 https://www.yokohamatire.com/tire-search/by-size/285/35/18

Apparently the Toyo Proxes Sport exists in the Non USA S4s/V8 sizes: https://www.toyotires.fr/tire/pattern/proxes-sport But it seems it's not that easily available in the right size on the usual websites.

Little did you know it actually retained the plywood firewall from this early prototype!

(They need to make a Lego Technic one though)

S4s rolling restoration project
Giniw replied to tomcattom's topic in Esprit 'Project & Restoration' Room
(indeed before I edited my post I was surprised there were cars and coffee meets even during the work week ... that was until I realized you posted about this on Saturday, hence why I edited my post ^^. Anyway, thanks for the explanation since it appears there actually are car meets organized during the work week!) -
SteveV8s V8 (Big project in a tiny garage)

Glad you are gaining mobility, it must be quite something to lose one's arm usage all of a sudden! Also, very, very nice interior! -

Very nice! Also beware of the general purpose cleaner, I have seen some carpet strangely discoloured on a used bit I once bought for the Elan. Maybe it was not related to a cleaner at all, but ...? -
(Was it related to the Queen Jubilee ?! Sounds stupid but ... )

Stupid question maybe, but are the drag coefficients ever verified? I mean, the performances (and weight) figures are notoriously off on most brands so why would it be different for the drag coefficient?

I think in the USA it's more common to modify cars anyway?

S4s rolling restoration project

If I remember well the max boost of the S4s is 1 bar without the overboost. I am not sure how you are trying to adjust the actuator? It should be done with a pressure gauge and a calliper (the measuring one, not the braking one :D) and that's about it? -

Just to be sure, maybe you could try to reset the ECU since it may have learned bad infos when your cat was blocked? -
Indeed there were still some Toyo a couple of years ago but they seem to have disappeared! I can't see much available on 123pneu.fr either for instance 😕 (=delti in other countries if I understand well)

OZ Futura Split Rim Refurbing
Giniw replied to Bibs's topic in Suspension/Brakes/Wheels/Hubs/Steering/Geo
Do they have the inner part too by the way? (I think I have seen some but never went that far to check whether they had the right dimensions) -
They do but, would the driver be able to get out of it? @exeterjeep Your photos are very interesting as they show new cars straight out of the factory so they are a good historical reference (same for the M100 ones you already posted) Thanks!

I am surprised the aerial is on the right side?!

I confirm it doesn't look like my SE either.

You may be right!
