  1. This should be released as a GCSE we all have to pass before getting our cars. Literally anything to take the mind off the wait. Section A. Question 4. Name the fishy electrical expensive smell coming from behind the dashboard
  2. Up for some track time, keep me informed.
  3. With a 7 week old nothing is certain so if you see me, you see me - don't keep me a space. And if I don't make it look have a great day regardless, its some event.
  4. Off the back of this thread put a call into Lotus Customer Service earlier this week. I'm a 8th July 2021 depositor with car originally due July, then August. Told by Lotus to expect 6-8 week delay putting me into October. No chance of spec changes (as we all know by now but hell its free to ask again), and yes factory collection could potentially put it back slightly but the call hander didn't have any definitive information on that. I realise that this is the same message we're all getting, so a positive is at least its consistent. It's frustrating that our dates are slipping but saying that a quick phone call to Lotus is easily done, and thankfully the price being held is a big deal when Kias are up 10% and Teslas up to 20% in the last few months. I'd say I would feel significantly different if what is the guts of an £80k car became £90k overnight. I think base cars at £60k at this stage are wishful thinking!
  5. Hoping to get down - will be in the Yaris as the GT4 is away. I'm actually hoping to interview Ronan, the organiser of the supercar sunday event on our podcast. Oh, RMS having a cars and coffee this sunday in Mallusk if anyone interested Andy
  6. Just heard they have been able to bridge the component gap so cars will be delivered on time from this recent press release: Just as BMW shipping X5s without touch screens, the stock team at Lotus have been working hard to address part supply issues, and in clearing the old parts warehouses at Hethel in preparation for another canteen, are pleased to announce some cars will now come with Vauxhall wiper stalks, mini metro mirrors and the First Edition I4 will be a K-series. In fact the K-series car was featured recently on a track test pitted against a Porsche in North Wales by a performance car periodical. We at Lotus were lambasted for not supplying a track ready head gasket for the affair; most of the Emira’s wooden chassis being terminally damaged after suffering explosive decompression across all cylinders during the test. However, Youtube commenters agree that the car would have comprehensively beaten the German sports car had the much lauded K series been rebuilt to race spec in the pits of Anglesey. Meanwhile, a farmer recently revealed that the K-series was “the one to have” saving the online reputation of the new car (and saving a purchasers bacon after an email destined for AMG engine sales was “stuck in his outbox”). 7. Tesla have just increased the price of their base Model 3 from 41k to 48k. Kia just done the same in the same week. A price freeze is significant for sure.
  8. Nice touch from Matt.
  9. Phil McGovern from Caffeine and Machine’s review of the Emira and excellent photos.
  10. Every time I see another photo Wish I got the Red. The Silver. The Green with the Tan. Oh the White Interior looks awesome. Very photogenic in all the launch colours! EXCITED!
  11. Back to brass tacks. The Emira seemingly will be on Top Gear next Sunday 19th June.
  13. The cross gate action in both my Evora and Exige S sucked. On track, high G corner, forget about making a clean shift flat out. I tracked both cars significantly. I never had the issue on the road, by the way. And the GT4 'box is light years ahead of the crud cable shift/Auris combo, its a beaut despite the long ratios and infallible on track. You know the only thing I really disliked about Porsche ownership, was perception. I wouldn't be let out at junctions as much, and you wouldn't get fellow enthusiasts coming over to you at the pumps for a chat like you would in a Lotus. You can see a bit of that in this thread. Back to the box of gears, I actually didn't expect Lotus to solve this issue (they've had over a decade to sort it). The lower rev limit is a bit of a shame as 7k is tried and tested; and I wonder if the first few gears are torque limited as well, one of the reasons the likes of an Evora 400 doesn't feel as quick as it should. And yet, here I am, with my GT4 as much as sold and my early Emira order staying firm despite any reviews, despite tirades on here about Customer Service. I just find myself incredibly fortunate to be able to have my name down for a proper 3 pedal mid engine sports car, that looks utterly jaw-dropping, built by a company with real heritage, with a powertrain that is very much familiar (and one that I actually do like, despite the above). Its very exciting times until the end of ICE, and I can't bloody wait for my Emira!
  14. Andrew Frankel reviews the Emira on this weeks Intercooler podcast
  15. I brought my GT4 to a local Lotus meet recently, and of course I was asked how it compared to my Exige/Evora etc. My response normally starts with, 'You really don't want my answer'. The Emira is a stunning looking, different, Lotus DNA road car. Evo were unfair in a GT4 into the picture at Anglesey, and as said Lotus similarly not supplying a cup2 shod car for a track test. On that basis I can't knock Jethro for the hand he was dealt, and great to have the other reviews like Harry's as counterpoint. I'm still very much looking forward to my FE V6 Emira even after the bells tolled at 12 today!
  16. If Catchpole got his hands on it then hopefully there is a carfection vid to follow.
  17. Caffeine and Machine FB:
  19. Just got a call from Lotus. Car being built in July, August delivery (although it said July in the recent email). Absolutely fine/exciting, factory collection. Also opening a dealership franchise in Dublin, can't find out much about that for the moment.
  20. Fantastic Run. Smoothest roads in NI… thought I was in Germany for a moment! (Must be the pork!) Great to meet you all! Few pics here:
  21. Still in the GT4. And I am a TBC! Hopefully we get weather like right now!
  22. From what I've seen (and heard), the GT4 RS is worthy of a delay. Sadly they will likely be unobtainium.
