Any recommendations for good days out, nice beaches, places to eat?

We're staying in a villa just south of Rethymno which seems pretty much in the middle and have a car.

I go there every year and stay just outside Rethymno at the Aquila Rithymna Beach.
we have been all over the place.
    places I recommend are..

    Knossos Palace nr Heraklion

    Chania Town

    Lake Kournas

Souda Beach on the south coast nr Plakias Beach.

I'd be very cautious is removing those triangles. I've heard of a few sills cracking where they bolt on.

I’ve taken mine off 3 times for re-covering.
    come off real easy.

if they have never been off then there is a chance of corroded bolts. I always install any bolts with copaslip. No issues.

@Composite guru I’ll give it a go! Any tips??

Where do you buy the black PPF?

Did you snap any of the p-rivets when you took them off?? Or do they unscrew ok?

Hi James, the PPF is clear but has a matte finish. I got mine from work as we use it on our race cars.
Xpel make a matte PPF called Stealth. Readily available from what I’m aware.
The Pods come off quite easily. 1 scrivet in the wheel arch and  2 bolts underneath the sill.

  4. Welcome to the club.
First thing I did when I bought my Cup was cover all the black bits in matt PPF. The rubberised paint that Lotus use is absolutely rubbish. It’s an interior paint not meant to be used on the outside.
I also used some rubber U channel around the edge of the rear pods. Just makes them bulletproof.

Thanks Guys 🙌🏻. Collecting first thing Saturday morning.. pray for no rain for me!

Anyone know what the production run was on the S-Cups? I’ve never one of them on the roads, although I do indirectly know another owner of a 250Cup.

From what I’ve been told there were 153 S/220 Cups made. The only difference was the stickers.

This info was written on a certificate of provenance from Lotus.

MBR said they haven't tried the 235/205 setup yet...

Apologies, I meant the 205 fronts.

Running a 205/45/16 front tyre has been done LOTS of times by many people (Everyone who ran Toyo R1R tyres for a start)

Lotus used the AD08 205/45/16 and 225/40/17 on the Elise cup 260. Using the same 7x16 / 8x17 wheels  and body work as the regular 250 cup.

So yes they will fit and work

It says in this that the rear tyres on the 260 were 235/40/17.

Did you have an S2000 and do some CF sill covers etc for them? ;)

BTW I part own a couple of engineering companies

Hi Mikey, yes I did my own coil cover and the Honda badges.  Small world.

I’m not on the tools anymore so don’t get chance to make stuff nowadays.

Have you still got the McLaren? If my memory serves me correctly that’s what you moved to last time I was on S2Ki?

Ring your dealer on Monday and ask for the service price when they supply all the materials required Matt, I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised!

Hi Andy, cheers. Yes  I know about the new pricing for servicing. It is a good deal.
I was more wondering if the standard stuff they use is any good. I’m sure it is.
I do prefer to use my own engine oil though.
