@Composite guru do you have a FB URL? There seems to be a number of Cup groups. :)

Ha, yes there are 2. There is a register which is just fir actually owners and there is a Cup Page for general chat and for people who are interested in the cars.

This is the one I meant.

    This is the register page.

Welcome to the Cup club. Nice choice.

We have a nice little Cup owners page on FB. If you are on FB then come past and say hi.

That car has been discussed on there recently. B-)

I was going round thinking how could this day get any better? – Then heard Clive say on the PA that Hazel would be attending.

It was great to finally get to visit the factory. With the future looking so positive and so many key people from the past there it was all so good.

Thanks Bibs for getting SLOC along. Great to be there on such a fantastic day!

Nice to have a pic of my car with Clive and Hazel in it. B-)

May I ask for an original please Jerry?

One thing I mentioned to my son whilst wandering around and watching the "one of every Lotus road car" display is that Lotus doesn't seem to have made a single dud model in all those 70 years. All of them are desirable. Compare that to  moneybags Porsche with their back catalogue including the lame 100bhp 1.6 litre 912, van-engined cheapo 924, monstrous diesel Cayenne, grotesque Panamera etc. Also all Lotus owners are true enthusiasts of the marque, as was patently obvious on Saturday. No-one buys a Lotus without having real knowledge of sports cars, which is probably why they don't sell that many!

It was great heading up and back down the A11 to see which brightly coloured shape would appear in the rear-view mirror next!

i fully agree with that. I have a mate that is just about to buy a Ferrari. He loves driving cars hard but just cant see Lotus as an option. I tried getting him to buy a GT430 but his reply was "It is too much money for what it is. Most buy for the badge on the front and what others think rather than what engineering is underneath.

I'll be going up Saturday morning from Flitwick (nr Millbrook) direction, happy to convoy up or meet people along the route (A507, A11)

We'll see you there Mark. We decided to make the weekend of it and rough it in Caistor Hall.

Got my car on the stand so need an early start to get it cleaned up.

  6. Nice choice. As much as French cars are normally not anywhere near the top of my want list, this car does take my fancy.

My Elise Cup featured alongside this car in July's Car Magazine and the journalist writing the article did say it was the closest car to driving a Lotus. The article featured the TTRS and the Cayman 718 too.

Strangely the porker came out top but I suppose that was the overall package.

Enjoy, its a great looking car.
