  1. Is it only campsites where people actually miss the bowl with the crap? I mean how do you do that? This is well before the social distancing x marks the spot
  2. Some of the young see it as an old persons disease, and that if it spreads quickly through the population, that will shorten the mess. Of course it will make it a lot messier, but if the alternative iis lving out our lives under the threat of a plague, with no end in sight, i see their point. I was a punk rocker, and humanity has survived plagues before. I see their point. Doesn't mean I agree with it though. πŸ€”
  3. How about letting kids play football in the park? If you factor in children's cross infection and outdoor transmission, it's probably safer than opening garden centres and takeaways. Still, garden centres and takeaways can open here in Wales, but you can't drive there as it's clearly not essential. Obviously you could walk, run or cycle there, but the car parks are busy.
  4. At least it's paper not polystyrene. The chip shop at the bottom of town here used to do takeaways in yellow polystyrene clam boxes, and on Saturday and Sunday morning there would be drifts of them by the riverside. I think once it's seen as normal a lot of people think it's ok. I asked the shop nicely if they could do anything and they told me to get stuffed. πŸ˜‚ what was I expecting?? Luckily there's another chippy up the high street, wraps in paper and doesn't have the littering problem. One day soon we will be allowed to go get chips in Wales!πŸ‘
  5. Didnt Common Sense buy a 70s lotus that had been in a hedge for 20 years? Oh no that was his second cousin once removed "Hopeless Optimist"🀣
  6. My colleague just returned to the UK from Poland by road/tunnel last week. He was asked the purpose of his journey before boarding the eurotunnel - otherwise empty roads, and no stops. As he was covering a key worker who is self isolating that was an acceptable reason to travel. I'm not sure collecting a sports car would wash, but then you'd be fined Β£60, cheaper than speeding, and they'd send you home. You might meet a lot of disapproval though. Round here you'd probably make the front pageπŸ˜€
  7. Isn't that a bit vague and imprecise? I don't know what "f**king grow up" means. πŸ˜‚
  8. I think it's ok to be driving your car. As long as those fishing rods on the roof are just for showπŸ˜‚ Hard to catch cv19 when driving, and a&E has reopened for "business"πŸ‘
  9. At last! A fact!!πŸ˜‚
  10. ... or flaming human cannonball!πŸ’₯
  11. Are you leaving the original clocks in? I wondered about a colour LCD screen looking like the originals I don't know how programmable these things are though, but it could save a load of wiring πŸ‘
  12. Dying with coronavirus in hospital is what we are counting. Just wait till we include dying with coronavirus in a nursing home. It's hard to compare stats from different countries- ultimately we'll look at the rise in the death rate compared to 2019 across different countries,... excepting those whose figures are compiled entirely by the state. Given we maintain nuclear armed submarines (I think one still works) at 2 billion a year, we can probably maintain stocks of ppe for the next pandemic. We could store them in a disused football stadium. It's not the usa, it's just trump and his cronies.
  13. I don't think the antivaxers are objecting to this one yet - maybe when immunity is up to 80%, but not before. πŸ˜‚
  14. Those of us with a British Education and therefore a good grasp of UK biodiversity will know that the Loch Ness monster is in fact a diplodocus.πŸ˜‰ Those who claimed it was a plesiosaur were proved wrong years ago. I suspect climate change has dried up Loch Ness and they are moving north. Controversial I know (@barrykearley)πŸ˜‰ Although it looks like South in the photograph. It's been flipped by the russians. (North is usually to the left)
  15. No those are miniature diplodocuses. Taste like chicken. Someone's already eaten all the pangolinsπŸ™„
  16. The confirmed cases will rise with the increased testing. Most analysts see the cross infection rate as having dropped below where we need it to maintain hospital functionality, so I'm expecting a relaxation of employment restrictions. Economic decline and people avoiding medical attention is now having a significant health effect - the children's hospital is finding people presenting too late is badly affecting outcomes.
  17. The garlic's like praying - didn't cost you much if it didn't work... Oh and the loo roll. Don't vampires spread cv19? I mean they're not into social distancing at all are they?
  18. I'm with fingermouse at no5, but there's a lot of human ingenuity That last guy is ready for marsπŸ‘
  19. Isn't every day a bank holiday now?
  20. Very useful thanks - I was going to measure with feeler gauges but hadn't thought of swapping the liners around and writing down all the measurements. It's a lot of fun this sort of engine forensics. you probably won't love the previous owners thoughπŸ˜‚
  21. Do I need a feeler gauge that measures less than 1thou? Or use the 1thou strip and compare drag? Also should I swap the liners(and matching pistons) around for best height match? And what do you do if the levels are wrong?🀯
  22. Straight edge, liners, all I need is a feeler gauge
  23. I've been mentally preparing for refitting the liners - paint stripper on the old grey sealant, disc brake cleaner on the black stuff, alcohol on the operator And next I'm going to drop them into the block to check "nip".Probably less than this. On the right is the replacement sleeve from lotusbits - covered in glue- whereas mine were rustier but pretty glueless.
  24. Bin day is tomorrow, glass recycling was yesterday. Or is bin day a week tomorrow? Or will they not take it because there's some cardboard in it? That should have gone last Friday. What day is it anyway?
