  1. Just one more day! has anyone yet received an invite or link to the event?
  2. Bibs is there going to be a Model forum for the 130?
  3. No S20 is more like our Advanced Compound - these are great products for removing marring from paint surfaces and leaving a flawless finish. So would be OK. But it is a more powerful cutting compound than the purple passion which is a more gentle product. If it works then great just do small sections at a time, so you can continually check the results are good (you don't want to cut too deep). Do it by hand with an applicator like this put plenty of Polish on the pad and work it into the pad before applying it to the surface. After complete, wax over the whole surface and you should be good.
  4. Not sure why washing or using a detergent Bug remover would be a - "not to be done". Did they give you any reason for this? Vinyl will be fine with detergents - they might be sensitive to alkaline cleaners. But they will be sensitive to solvents like alcohol. Vinyl is a type of plastic and solvents can cause bleaching and shrinkage. The difficulty in advising is for me, it's unclear what we are dealing with. It's either a bonded contaminate or the vinyl has been etched by bird droppings or tree sap. But it's also possible both effects are going on. Ideally you would just replace the vinyl wrap. But if this is not something you would want to do then your alternative is to wash, polish and wax. This may work it may not but its about your only option from what I can see. Polish needs to be a gentle abrasive. Something like our purple passion.
  5. Do you have any photos so we can see what your dealing with. Bird poo may have etched the vinyl.
  6. To be fair i didnt ask. I was told they had limited info currently. And the rest was under NDA.
  7. Thank you Bibs. 7:30pm is much more like it. Enjoy the early morning Michael. Double expresso or a very early morning run to truly wake you up?
  8. I think this is interesting and we are still awaiting the release of the car and its specs. Personally I prefer analogue. I think manual puts the control and skill in your hands. But looking at Lotus pitch about being a tech car company and the future being electric I do wonder if there will be a manual version of this new car. In some respect I think it will be a great decision to only offer the new cars in DCT. Because it will hold/preserve the value of the older cars, while bring Lotus Forward to the current market. Even thou my preference would be a manual car and I think Lotus will only offer the 131 in DCT i have put a deposit down on the Emira. My expectation is that Lotus are going to offer an amazing spec car that looks like art - McLaren Packaging for Porsche money. Creating a new future for the Lotus Brand while raising the profile of the older cars and their analogue nature. Let see what the 6ths of July bring us. I'm sure Lotus will nail it.
  9. Interesting to see the start of this post and the prices quoted in 2013 to where prices are now. Does add value to buying a car you love driving.
  10. A 60 sec demo of our Classic tyre dressing that leaves a subtle sheen finish to tyres. Enjoy the video, feedback welcome as always.
  11. not seen this before. Great interview. Really excited to see the 131.
  12. Any idea when we should expect to hear from them? Is it really 4am? not that's a problem Im normally up by 6am anyway.
  13. Thanks Bib's The article is first class.
  14. Well Worthwhile. The more members the more the TLF will have to invest in main website content, meets, events. All members will benefit in the end. If you opt for the Gold you get your first year membership back in Valeting Products. Win Win.
  15. Hello Bib's Filled out the form put myself down as not having a deposit on the Emira and then after phoned Bell and Colvill and put a deposit down. Could my form be updated please?
  16. Its possible. It might be we can do a joint effort with a Lotus Dealer your way. Who would be best? On another note, I think part of why the day was enjoyable was the ValetPRO tour (at least I hope) Showing the lab, mixing and filling areas. Show more about our expertise in manufacturing than we can demonstrate otherwise. Doing an event with a Lotus Deal would be great anyway.
  17. Brilliantly Put. I really miss my Evora N/A Sports Racer. Love that saying. Don't Trickle (charge), Treat Yourself. That should be a TLF T-Shirt. Bib's if you make this design i'll buy one.
  18. Seen this car locally a couple of times now. So I guessing they are local.
  19. Thought this was great to see. Some old coverage on Lotus. What I find most inspiring is the first sentence stating Colin Chapmans age. Just shows what can be achieve by thinking differently and implementing those ideas. Just brilliant.
  20. The car looks fantastic. Love the wheel design. Reminds me of a rover SD1 front and a Jensen interceptor rear. Does it have an old School V8?
  21. Hello Dan, Not a problem at all. Hopefully see you at our next event or a future TLF event. Hello Rob Yes definitely up for running another event. Just need to check with my team when the next particle date could be. To all Just to say I really enjoyed the event myself. Pretty much all my favourite things in one day. Lotus Cars, Driving, Car detailing Products and Burgers. Not sure when the next event would be but if there is anything you would like to know more about, anything particular please add to this thread really keen you your suggestions. Would you prefer a longer group drive anything like that too. thank you to everyone who has donated thus far We have raised £180 for Air Ambulance. All the best Greg
  22. I believe Matt was part of Zenos. If Im correct I would ask what he learnt from running a start up like Zenos? and if it helps him now running Lotus with worlds apart funding? Some silly questions Tomato Sauce or Brown Sauce? Lager or bitter? Coffee or Tea?
  23. Hello All I have message all thous who have confirmed apart from Bib's who have been to our site before. I've given you all my phone number just in case you have difficulty finding our site. Sometime the satnav puts our postcode in the wrong area of Newhaven. Look forward to meeting you all. all the best greg
  24. I've not used any of these companies myself and would not every use them. So I'm probably not best to give any response. This is the closest product we make to a waterless wash. It cleans and protect. I guessing one of these firms would use something like this product. Designed for Caravans not Cars. There are a number of areas where a waterless wash is not going to do the job. Wheels, It would remove light road grime and break dust but not boned brake dust. Very difficult to clean the backs of wheels and therefore will not be effective. Mud heavy grit road grime. Not a good idea to use a product like this to remove heavy grit road grim. Ceramic coating is not going to help in this situation. I don't know the methods that they would adopt to clean a whole car waterless. They may have a great method. What I would add is that any marring created by a waterless product is likely to be hidden by the silicones and waxes in the product. Over the long term assuming I'm right about the products they use your find grime build up in edges, door trim, window frames etc. Wheels break dust will build up. Glass might become smeary in the rain if not cleaned off with appropriate cleaner after the car is washed. These would be my concerns. However if you use them I would be keen to hear your feedback on the quality of work from first clean to longer term cleaning.
