  1. The guy on the Nordschleife video sure knows the track well!
  2. Try them both, Hughesy. I did and I preferred the (perceptible to me) lightness of the NA, which surprised me.
  3. I really wish they'd brought the GT to the UK; I think it's the prefect spec for me. Love how a race-car driver analyses (and loves) it.
  4. £2.4m for a Lotus too, even.
  5. What about the original gunmetal used by Lotus on early Evoras?
  6. It's not as pretty/coherent though.
  7. The list of fixes on your car seem extremely familiar to me! 😂 Although I've also had brake and throttle sensors replaced, upgraded the head unit, put metal oil pipes on the bottom of the engine and replaced the tailgate struts as well, plus cat-bypass pipe.......I think I'd better stop there!
  8. I pressure-wash my early NA all the time and it never leaks - weird that this sounds so bad for some others. The seal around the top looks mighty chunky and as Bibbs says is beyond easy to put on/take off - must be worth a try/ £15.
  9. Oops my bad, I didn't notice that it was an S. Also Sports Racer ? Agree that's an amazing price, given all that.
  10. Cars like this were £25K a few months ago. I wouldn't say it's suspiciously cheap. You could always get it inspected.
  11. What gets my goat is that all the Porsches I've had (996 C2, 996 Turbo, 944 Turbo and Panamera Turbo) all turned out to be way less reliable and far costlier to run than the Evora has been; all quite significantly so, in fact. Only just dodged a 10K gearbox replacement on the Panamera because the immobiliser cut in, stopping the car before the gearbox oil leaked to zero from a failed oil cooler! Yet the Porsches are the "better made" cars? Hmmm, superficially maybe, but not mechanically.
  12. They always say "interior not as good as a Porsche". Speaks volumes about them and most modern 'drivers'; it's all about the bling/badge, not the drive.
  13. Is this for real? Hendy are about 2 miles away from me! Why would this be at a Honda dealership instead of Snows Toyota?
  14. It wasn't just about price and the car is lovely, but just saying that even good -400s can be had for < 50K
  15. Well I was looking at one just last week that was under £50K privately, excellent spec, but we never reached a deal. Seller wants to buy a 981 GT4 (these are going up in price, apparently) and wanted just a little too much for the Evora in my opinion.
  16. That is so true, Bruss. I solved my car's issues only after going to an air-con specialist garage.
  17. At the same time as they wore out in no time at all, the pirellis also felt like they were made of stone: aquaplaning, understeering, ackerman-juddering and being far more noisy than the Michelins as well. In the cold and the the wet, they were pretty dire.
  18. How did you paint the Lotus script? I found the letters to be very rounded and difficult to paint when I did mine, so I just left them the same colour in the end.
  19. Don't forget the Wolseley fireplace/grille on the front, for extra understeer. My God those cars were beyond crap.
  20. Pheasants take the phrase "bird brained" to an extreme level. You can definitely see the lineage from dinosaurs in that regard.
