  2. Regarding this airbag cover issue does it affect the 400’s in a similar way to the S1 ?
  3. I’ve recently done that move, yes the 400 is a bit stiffer and feels an bit sharper for it,it’s not really stiff though still very comfortable for a sports car just not as much of the magic carpet ride that you get in an S1. As for the sound well it’s amazing, very civilised when cruising on the motorway and at low revs, once the exhaust valves open though it’s epic, and for lower speed bangs and pops there’s the open all the time button 😀. The 400 is quite a bit quicker and pulls hard from low rpm as you’d expect with the supercharger. Overall the 400 is just more focussed.
  4. Luie, Yeah your correct I’d imagine it’ll be significantly more than that, it’s on 22k miles and Pearl white.
  5. Hi Luke, Not sure of your budget ? but I recently px’d my n/a Sports racer at Hofmanns, I’m sure it’ll be available soon once a tiny crack in the back bumper is sorted. I can vouch that it’s probably one of the best n/a you’ll find. Cheers, Phill

After having the n/a Sports racer for two years I thought about toying with the idea of moving to a 400, I wanted a manual, quite a few colours that I didn’t want 🙄, and after viewing a car with red leather I decided it wasn’t for me. I realised that I could well be in for a long wait but better than something I wouldn’t be totally happy with. As luck would have it a lovely Blue 400 with just 6k miles came up at Hofmanns, an unaccompanied test drive (due to COVID) confirmed it was for me 😎, the sound of that exhaust is incredible 🤪🤪 Brought it back to the Lake District last week, just cruising on the Motorway back home I’m ashamed to say the average mpg display showed 34.9 mpg 🤫, not sure how accurate that is but I’d be pretty certain that’ll never be repeated again !!! Loving it of course, oh did I mention the exhaust sound 😃

  9. I noticed that the two 400’s that Silverstone had are no longer on their website, I suppose both could have sold at a similar time but realistically I think that’s unlikely. I think one (if not both) were on SOR and the owner is on here, would be interesting to know if they have been sold or maybe removed from sale ? Can anyone recall who’s cars they are ?
  10. It would be useful to know why you prefer the PS4S compared to the CUP 2’s ? I did often wonder why Lotus fitted the CUP 2’s to cars in the UK, with the weather being pretty wet and cold for around 5 months a year I assume it’s rather difficult to generate sufficient heat in them a lot of the time 😳

  12. Is there any reasoning as to “when they’re gone” on an Evora 🙄 as on my previous cars I found that a battery could be revived/life extended sometimes for a long time by putting it on charge for a decent duration.
  13. That was a bargain for someone, must have been the cheapest 400 I’ve seen, just goes to show if they are priced competitively then they do sell really quickly.
  14. Welcome Hughesy I came into Evora ownership from a Ph.2 Clio v6 myself 😀, the Vee is a very special car indeed. The Evora is a great choice to move onto, it’s easier to drive quickly than the Vee, certainly not as raw it’s a bit quicker but not night and day difference performance wise. Good luck with selling your Vee 👍, I sold mine on really quickly 😎
  15. What’s SOET ? F1 hasn’t been up to much for years, I still watch but I’m not sure why quite often. These days I prefer GT racing and MotoGP.

  17. I do have the pin code for mine, having read the manual it seems straightforward to program the key, NOT. So maybe I should go to a dealer who knows the process regarding sorting this out, unless someone can offer an easy translation of what it says in the manual. I’ve ordered one of those “key finder” gadgets today - bit late I suppose but hopefully I will be able to locate a key if it happens again, which probably won’t. Any idea how much this is likely to cost at a dealer ? I’m quite prepared for a bit of wallet lightening, but I’d rather not keel over with shock when at the dealers LOL !!!
  18. Hi everyone, Somehow I’ve lost one of my keys. Can someone please advise the best course of action to get a replacement ? I’ve tried one of the local mobile key replacement places and was told they can’t get hold of the blanks. So I can either contact a dealer (car was supplied new, but not to me, by Lotus Silverstone), or is it just better/easier to go to Lotus direct ? Cheers

I’ve been doing some detailing on the car today and noticed that the plastic bit under the mesh of the side scoop is looking a little in need of some black plastic cleaner (I’m really fastidious). Does anyone know if there‘s an easy way to remove the mesh in order to access the plastic piece ? My guess is that there probably isn’t, in which case how can this piece be cleaned please ? I’m a bit reluctant to try and do it with a small artist’s brush through the mesh in case it turns out looking rubbish. Cheers
  20. I had the same issue a few weeks ago, this is how I sorted mine. Activate the washers as normal so you can see them spraying in the raised position then quickly turn the ignition key to the off position leaving them in the high position. Have a look inside the assembly and you can the see the plastic rail that moves up and down, I gave the rail a clean and squirted some WD40 onto it, operate the washers a few times and apply some more WD. It didn’t work immediately but the next day everything worked just fine, and they have continued to do so. I’m hoping that this will have sorted it permanently.
  21. It may be worth checking your postcode risk rating, if it’s low then would that put your mind at risk somewhat and maybe consider the drive option as not being so unpalatable ? It seems there are quite a few who aren’t fortunate enough to have a garage, (myself included) as long as the drive option wouldn’t give you sleepless nights then I’d say go for it. The pleasure of ownership has got to be high on the list for myself, hence my decision to go ahead with getting my Evora.
  22. Here’s to hoping it’s going to be a decent race, although I’m usually thinking that and end up rather disappointed. It’s looking like it’ll be a Mercedes stroll in the park, but we can at least see some racing at last.

Yeah maybe I wasn’t clear, what I meant was “I’m not going to attempt sorting the job on axle stands”, I shall wait till my local mechanic or a Lotus dealer reopens, although the way things are it’s looking like that could be quite sometime. There are much more serious issues out there than fixing cars. Stay safe everyone.
  24. Thanks very much I shall have a read of the info. However a quick look at those threads seems to suggest the procedure will require two people, I’m not sure the girlfriend would feel at ease helping me out on my beloved lotus !!! And I’m not sure I’d want to work on the car trying to fix this issue while it’s on axle stands either. With the COVID 19 situation I won’t be able to call for help from my local friendly mechanic, with everything that’s going on at the moment I realise it’s very much a first world problem. Maybe in order to prevent the battery from going flat maybe I’ll take the car for a little run occasionally as apparently (in the UK) we can drive a short distance to go for a walk in the country. So my boot lid is stuck, I can hear the solenoid activating but the boot refuses to open, have tried getting my partner to press the button on the dash while I pushed and pulled the lid but it ain’t having it. I’ve tried the release cable underneath the back seat but that didn’t release it either. The car has been on trickle charge since lockdown, but the charger is in the boot !! so before too long I’ll have a flat battery as well !!! I’ve searched the forum and someone mentioned there’s an emergency solution posted on lotus talk, I’ve had a look on there but couldn’t find the correct information. Could a helpfull member please PM me the solution or a link to the info.on lotus talk. Cheers, Phill
