  1. Sorry I’m confused. Would my MY14 EvoraS IPS have this oil cooler fitted or would it need mods if I am considering a 410bhp upgrade?
  2. Is there a limit to what the IPS box will handle? How far to people go upgrading their autos, especially SC models?
  3. I agree with this. My 14 is the same. Usual silly niggles but that’s it! Apparently the SR’s were the most expensive to produce Evoras to date despite the upgraded super chargers etc on newer models!!
  4. If your car has only done 10k have you had full services every year as if the car had done say 10k a year? I just wonder, even though it’s the 4th service just what they are going to do! I honestly feel that low mileage should be taken into consideration. I use a Lotus specialist and he knows the car and the history and does everything he thinks the car needs. I’m sure a dealer will do everything regardless!
  5. It’s funny as I’m always reading in these forums as to the failings of the Evora auto box! I really don’t get it. My 14 Evora SIPS box is absolutely awesome. In sport it’s a (very) angry teenager and out of sport it’s a kitty cat! I challenge anyone to change through the box quicker in any manual and I know my auto boxes as I’ve had 4 German ones before this. Is it perfect? no, but it works wonderfully well and is more than adequate with this engine in this weight of car! Can’t speak for older or newer ones but the MY13/14/15 is IMHO perfectly adequate. Also the Evora is Not and Exige and if I were to buy an Exige I would never consider an auto but I can’t think why people really prefer a manual box in an Evora. My thoughts only and I wholly respect everyone’s individual preference.
  6. Had the car into Ollie at Phoenix Mororsport today and it seems the leek is from the windscreen A pillars and is a common fault fixable by fitting upgraded trims and seals. Made a bit of a mess of my leather sill covers but should be OK.
  7. Can anyone tell me how best to remedy a leek on my MY14 Evora S. It has been outside and the weather atrocious and today I’ve noticed the alcantara trim is soaked too to bottom on the windscreen pillar drivers side. I’m thinking it must be leaking from the windscreen or possibly the door seal or window. Any info or help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  8. I’m loving my new to me ‘14 Evora S IPS but there are a couple of improvements I need to make... 1. Stalks both look naff and are way too distant from the wheel! I realise, that as they both have end switches they are not going to be easily replaced but surely there is something I can get? 2. IPS paddles are too small and not tactile to operate.. I’ve seen some carbon look ones from the US but they are $200 & $60 delivery and wondered if there was a UK supplier or distributor? As always I really appreciate your comments and advice.
  9. Hi everyone I have just purchased my 2016 4500mile Evora S SR privately. It looks and drives like new but is, of course, six years 'young'! I have always been a sceptic with aftermarket warranties and have had a few problems years ago with one. However, a friend has one with a company called MotorEasy, and he raves about them. He has had several successful claims for his Jaguar. Bottom line, the cover is £1700 for three years, transferable to any new owner. There is a £50 excess per claim but no age-related contributions to any claim required. It is covered from day one but has to have an inspection within 30 days (at Halfords!) and has to be serviced ongoing by following Lotus guidelines but not necessarily by a Lotus dealer. No cover obviously for consumable items but seems comprehensive for everything else. No limit on the value of any single claim up to the cars value and no limit to the number of claims. Approval has to be approved before repairs are carried out. Is it worth it? Thoughts, please. Bozzie
  10. Could anyone enlighten me as to why my mirrors don't fold in. I have a 2014 EvoraS Sports Racer and its listed as having this feature but I cant get them to work. Also I cant get the tailgate to unlock from the internal dash switch - I have tried all optins like handbrake on, in park etc but must still be doing something wrong. Thanks chaps
  11. First day I got mine I had been out for a good drive, lots of look and sideways glances but as I was nearing home, there was a mid 20’s, blonde and really good looking. She was looking straight at me with her thumb up. As cool as possible I nodded back to her only seconds after I noticed a double decker bus filling my rear view mirror. I check now before making a dick of myself over again!!!
  12. Ackerman steering... yes that rings a bell now and I googled it. Seems Pirelli P Zeros increase the effect too!! Thanks everyone
  13. Hi Group I'm loving my new (to me) Evora but have a question.... When I maneuver IE reverse or drive in and out of a parking space I get some wheel feedback and a scrubbing noise from the front tyres. It really just feels like like the tyre treads are rubbing against the road surface. I really put it down to the light weight at the front of the car and I recall both my Elise's 20 years ago had similar characteristics but to a lesser extent, but I just want a proper heads up! 2014 Evora S, 4500 miles on P-Zero Corsas Thanks Bozzie
  14. Funny Bruss I’m not sure Spanky3!!! I suppose it’s like they used to put in old diaries EG miles to km, ft to ins, kind of weird but it’s true Lotus weirdness albeit via Alpine!!
