  1. In my experience, there is quite a gap in build quality between the early car and the MY12+ cars as well. The fit and finish felt a lot more 'solid' on the MY12+ than the earlier car. Not that it would be a deal breaker for me. None of the ones I looked at rattled which is a first in my experience, practically everything else I've been in British/Japanese/German has had a few rattles, even some brand new cars!
  2. Apparently, the connector to the rear lights is also badly designed and can cause ABS faults. So that's another potential culprit. As said though, just needs the OBD codes as a start point

Late to the conversation on the tire wars but, please don't bring that back, it was awful. Each track/conditions suited one or the other better and you would end up with a split grid, those who had the right tires and those that didn't. Then it was worse because Ferrari had special versions of the special tires so on, so forth...
  4. Probably depends on particular age of car, tyres etc. As some of those points were resolved throughout the S1 development. My car definitely has a dead pedal for a start. Handling on and above the limit, I don't think it snaps to me but it will oversteer on entry if you are aggressive and off the power, the weight transfer pulls the tail wide, but you either have to be transitioning or trying to upset it IMO. Then, yes mild undesteer once back on the throttle that it usually dials out on it's own if you stick with it but you can also get a whiff of oversteer on throttle on exit dependant on when you stand on the throttle amongst other things... So I partially agree
  5. Hi @Bibs upgraded over 3 weeks ago. I know the certificate will take a while, just wondering if the valet pro kit is on its way...
  6. It should be open at idle. It'll close when the rise a little for quiet cruising but definitely open at idle
  7. ^^ this... There is no law against photographing a car. The only other reason is you want to sell the spy shots, which you probably can!
  8. Another new Youtuber member, hello @BoostedTrav, some nice content you've made
  9. He'll be out of his training pants soon at this rate!
  10. I would actually quite appreciate swan wing doors ala Aston Martin. They are a God-send when parking next to a kerb especially on a cambered road and don't look stupid like scissor doors. Don't know why more manufacturers don't develop these
  11. It can be described as cosy and intimate... You just need to ask an estate agent.

Think it was a good result for Hamilton in the end really. He was looking at being 14 points down realistically after this race. The pit stop screwed his chances of getting more than 3rd and even if that hadn't happened, it was probably 2nd behind Verstappen. He emerges from the race only a few points down and off the back of a couple of bad tracks and multitude of errors from the whole team. Can't complain too much!

    Stonor Supercar Sunday

I'll keep an eye out for it!
  15. I followed for a while (totally not a stalker) then both gave a wave as we parted ways.
  16. It is interesting, all of the specialists and brokers give me sky high quotes, the 'big names' are cheaper for me and LV is the cheapest this year. I think they just flip a coin.

It does appear that they don't bother trying to make concessions for the second driver's style and just say 'drive the car like Max or leave'. It's not smart. The fact that they keep going through drivers at a rate of knots and apparently none of these promising drivers are good enough in their car (whilst being nagged incessantly on the radio) suggests that maybe, just maybe, it's not the drivers that are the problem...
  18. It was seen fairly recently (March) at Steve Williams if that's really the only one in the UK. If it's been looked after there then it's been well serviced.
  19. Thought someone had put a mirror up for a second. White Evora in traffic heading down the hill into Henley. I was heading up the hill. Both flashed and thumbs up. Good to see you whoever you may be!
  20. You could probably lose the doors as well. Shouldn't do these things half heartedly!
  21. A little girl crashed her bike because she was busy staring at the car today. 'were you looking at the car?' said her dad ' we always admire that car' says her sister. Cue long discussion about the car. Love the interaction this car brings it's nice to propagate some car passion in others.
  22. It's almost certainly going to be possible to unencrypt the ECU. The question is, has anyone invested the time effort and expertise to do so on a car that is not going to have many people rushing to your door to chip it for 10 bhp or so. Unlikely IMO
  23. Those 'fresh from the garage cars' aren't worth paying more for unless you are going to put it in a collection in my opinion. You instantly worry about putting miles on it for risk of ruining it's USP. Better to buy a high miler and enjoy it all the time.
  24. Just drove into the vaccine centre, my welcome? 'Beautiful car!'
