  1. I kinda see this more as a swan song as opposed to the future. Lotus is going electric, hell everyone is going electric. I see the Emira as the last time a normal person will be able to buy a brand new manual, sports car, and I want in on that before the opportunity is potentially lost forever. I’m also not convinced there will be an S version of the V6. I think they will do the GT4 and then the V6 will be gone and the AMG unit will get given the love until the Emira is discontinued.
  2. The base GTS is 10k lower, but that’s not a true price. Even just adding the multi-way seats increases the price by nearly £4K because you a interior leather pack aswell to get the same type of seat as in the Emira. The price on the Porsche website is also (to my knowledge) not the “on the road” price there are other fees that add up to about 2k. I think the FE Emira price is quite attractive, but with the same setup as (presumably the 400) it will come down if the creature comforts and aesthetic are worth the price increase.
  3. I was initially looking at the I4 when I placed my deposit, but have recently taken a promotion so I’m hopefully more leaning towards the V6 (price dependant of course). I got the same email stating it was for the V6 but I don’t remember being asked to specify which I was interested in my making the deposit.
  4. If it’s the static model (I.e the blue one) I take it that it will just be the car that was at Goodwood? I don’t feel quite so bad about not being around to attend the roadshow. I’m sure all the information given at the events will filter onto here anyway. I’m much the same, hopefully the decision might be easier (or made for me!) when the prices are released in the coming weeks.

    I’m mostly waiting for the cars to be given to reviewers (Can’t wait to see Harry’s Garage). I won’t be in the country for the roadshow, so it will be the best source of info for me.
  7. Id probably keep my RX7 as it’s a childhood dream car for me. The MR2 slot is being replaced by the V6 Emira, so that and the RX7 (and the little MX5) would be the garage. However I have been growing quite fond of the Elise and the GR Yaris. So (sticking with the £100k budget) I’d probably have an Elise 250 cup or 240 Sport, with a GR Yaris and the Emira! If it had to be limited to just 2 cars, then it’s a tough one. I don’t need practicality so probably an AMG Emira (as a daily) with something like this (Exige Final Edition) https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11637078 Either that, or the V6 Emira with a GR Yaris
  8. Any delay just means I will have more time to save and therefore more likely to talk myself into the V6!
  9. I actually quite like the ice grey leather. But would have to see it in person.
  10. It’s tough, I love the red and blue but I already have cars in those colours, so Yellow is the current option with black pack, but if I could get a toxic green or a purple / midnight purple then I would probably wait.
  11. I considered it and took one for a test drive, it drove well and felt fast but not super engaging, but it was the first car I went to look at after the Alpine fell through. So it felt very heavy in comparison (as most cars would). I think it was mostly the dealer experience that put me off.
  12. I’m into my JDM cars quite a lot. I’ve got an NA Eunos Roadster (MK1 MX5), an FD RX7. I wanted something mid engined so looked at an NA1 NSX but the prices were just getting ridiculous, and I decided I didn’t want another car that was older than me and I could actually use day to day. So I moved onto a GTR (not mid engined but jdm), but felt they were far too heavy and servicing would have been a nightmare. Someone suggested an Alpine A110, so I went to go look and loved it. But a mix up at the dealer meant the one I wanted sold. I then went to look at Lotus and have been looking for an Evora until the Emira was launched. I’m still not completely sold on the Emira, I want the V6 but I’m not sure the first edition price will be worth the premium over an Evora 400. I also looked at a 981 GTS which while great just felt a little soulless and seeing 3/4 of them on the way to the test drive just made it feel a little less “exclusive” (very snobby I know). So effectively if the Emira never launched I would be buying an Evora anyway!

  15. Yeah that’s the dilemma, I have a deposit for an Emira. But it’s going to be at least 12 months until they are ready. First world problems I guess…
  16. It looks like that one has a titanium exhaust. The 4xx cars already sound pretty great out of the box, does the titanium exhaust make that much difference?

But it might be fairly believable, clear out remaining V6 stock and parts. Then they can produce more performance orientated variants as the AMG unit can take more abuse?
  19. Thanks for the insight, Mercedes has never really appealed to me so I would have never known! I guess I was kinda expecting it to be Alpine A110 like! Maybe it’s not gonna be the option for the daily driver then haha. The 31 year old MX5 might have to take on those duties again!
  20. I4 for me as it’s likely going to be my daily driver. The manual V6 doesn’t make much sense to me, id rather save the money and get an Evora 400 + something to daily if I wanted an auto for the same price. The I4 Emira just means I don’t potentially have to run 4 cars.

  22. I suspect you will probably know more than me! I was just told at Goodwood that they hadn’t got an I4 fitted yet. That could have just been for that car specifically though. It’s going to be interesting to see the future development of Emira. I imagine the I4 will remain largely the same power wise and it will be the V6 getting the S versions and what not.
  23. I can’t see how the I4 can come first when Lotus don’t even have an Emira with the I4 fitted yet. Which is why the blue car barely moved anywhere.
  24. Im surprised so few people are going for Hethel Yellow, and so many are going for the Dark Verdant. Ive never been a fan of dark sports cars, always thought they should be bright and over the top.
