  1. Thank you, Bibs. I have been to many launches/reveals and test drives of demo cars and have never encountered this. A recent demo/launch I attended had 3,000+ miles on it already.
  2. So, why , under any circumstances, would the boot be maxed out with batteries - or anything else? Seems like the "demo" models aren't quite ready for prime time.
  3. Plus, it miserably failed the live and very public stone-throwing test. Has there ever been a worse reveal?
  4. After market exhaust solutions for the GPF are hard to come by. Ferrari, thus far, has made the GPF on the F8 tinker proof in the sense that any attempts to bypass it will throw codes that indicate so and will void the warranty. Lotus - and other manufacturers - may do the same.
  5. All legit thoughts. Certainly complicates the do or don't process. My biggest concerns are also "great car, but underpowered" and the early on quality issues scenario. A couple of energetically positive reviews from trusted automotive journalists would go a long way towards instilling pre-purchase confidence amongst otherwise hesitant buyers.

    Lotus Emira

What would be the rationale behind not allowing test drives? The drive sells the car. Just thinking of the marquees I have been buying and pursuing over the last several years, I have received invitations to launches/unveilings, which offer a chance to view the cars in a showroom party/food/drink atmosphere to be followed, at a later date, by a test drive. And, tons of sales.
  7. It looks much like a baby 488 GTB/Evija. It's a beauty. Unrelated to looks, I think the moment the car becomes "boring" (or loses luster) is if/when the competition significantly leapfrogs it or the car becomes unreliable and costly to maintain.
  8. I had read on another forum that the Emira would officially (in USA terms) come in at 2933 lbs. The EU calculates weight at 1330kg (2933 lbs.) because they use the EU DIN Kerb weight standard, 75kg is added for driver and baggage. Regarding HP, I have seen screenshots on the performance data screen that indicate that 480 hp were achieved. Please let it all be true. 😎
  9. Coming from Porsche and Ferrari ownership. Love the Emira styling and engine note - OMG! Visually, the Emira reminds me of my 488 - and the F8, more so. The Emira will primarily be my wife's car, and will probably replace her 2016 Cayman PDK GTS. She purchased the last Cayman 6 cylinder GTS before Porsche moved to the 718 4-banger. My wife loves her GTS - and it fits her well - but would have much preferred a 3-pedal manual to the PDK. Anyhow, with a beautifully sculptured supercar body and a manual stick between the seats, the Emira appeared as a white knight in the soon-to-be stick-shiftless world of automobiles. And, sans EV to boot. All in. So, here we are on bended knee, ignoring what has been said/not said in the press about those all important specs, and hoping the Emira comes in at/under 2,900 lbs and 450-ish HP. Wishful thinking, we know. But, just imagine. 🤠
