  1. @Bee That's pretty decent! 🙂
  2. Still to early, I know, but something I haven't read about is the expected range you can get from a full gas tank. Or in other words: what will be the average consumption of the V6 and i4? Ok, true ... Everything depends on how heavy your foot is, but Lotus claims the Emira can be used as a daily driver, so I'm wondering how thirsty -especially the i4- will be when you are driving with a normal style in normal traffic. If you check out Spritmonitor with the MB (CL)A45, the fuel consumption they report is around 11 liters/ 100 km (=21,38 mpg). I wonder how accurate this is...
  3. Nimbus and Tan looks like a super combo! And it also looks like the Magma has the Ice interior. Very sharp!
  4. Hammond & Aston Martin & AMG-sound. Probably Lotus will do the same with the exhaust sound in the Emira... I mean: skip the pops & bangs and give it a proper soundtrack. 🙂 Also 4:06 = a little fanmail for Lotus!
  5. Great write up. 🙂 Any news when photos/videoclips will be available of the cars in all the colours?
  6. Dougs view on the Emira. Can't really say he doesn't have a point... I copy-pasted it where he starts talking about the Lotus.
  7. Also read a few complaints about wind noise with open windows for the Porsche Cayman. Seems there's some solution with little click on thingies on the side mirrors that cause a different wind flow, but no idea if this works or not. My BMW E89 Z4 has absolutely no issue at all. Twee windows down, four down... doesn't make a difference.
  8. A few days ago I went to the Emira launch in Belgium. Cosy showroom, it was crowdy but not 'too' many people... Everybody got multiple times the chance to sit in the car, to check all the details, to talk to the people from Lotus and so on. Some info I got -I didn't know this- that Geely also owns 10% of Mercedes-Benz and for that reason the collaboration between Lotus and AMG was not so surprising. The deal also stated that Lotus didn't only get the engines, but also a bunch of AMG engineers to work at the Lotus plant for the development of the mid engine architecture. The colour samples aren't very helpful to be honest. It's about time Lotus shows some other Emira's in different jackets.
  9. Must have overlooked it. Thanks! 🙂
  10. For the road show guys: Can someone take a picture of the tyre specs? Like: all the numbers on the sidewall of the tyre? Thank you 🙂
  11. - Are they going to offer any service plans (2-3-5 years?) or extended warranty programs? - Like you said: Estimated price for the Goodyears and Michelins. - The "actual" inches in wheel gap between wheels and arches. - How about the rumours for the future colours? What do they know? I'm probably too late now to ask this, no? 🙂
  12. Euhm, some dude on FB claims today six future colours were revealed today at Ashford. Black, white, 2 greys, 2 blues, red...? (Lotus Emira Owners-group) Sure is strange this info isn't shared here? Can someone confirm this? Sure sounds strange... @Bibs, you were there, have you seen or heard about this?
  13. Lucky people! And sunshine for free... 😅
  14. Just out of curiosity, what would be an example of US taxes? German price with tax (19%) for the V6 FE is +/- 97.500 euro (83500 pounds, 113.000 dollar). Can't imagine we have to pay so much more than the Americans. 🤔 Belgian tax is even 21%... Edit: Just did a Google => taxes on a car sale vary from 3 to 8 percent, depending on the state. 😳
  15. Did the tyre had a specific marking (a extra code or something) on the sidewall that said it's specially made for Emira?
  16. @TomE I saw you have some smashing pics of the samples in the sun. Can you also post them here? 🙂 Thank you very much 👍 Magma Red looks the bomb imo!
  17. I really appreciate the honest reviews about the first roadshow experiences. I totally understand the disappointment when it comes to not getting that special feeling you probably wanted. When you look at a Porsche event, everything is shiny and exciting, red carpets, champagne and caviar... But on the other hand: such dealers sure know how to empty your pockets afterwards. 😃 The "Porsche Tax" is a well known phenomenon when you pick up your P. after some maintenance and when you start to search the fora, they sure aren't all flawless cars. Maybe this will help to feel a little better? 🙃 But then again, I saw the little clips of the unveiling and yes, it didn't look very spectacular. The Emira deserved better. Maybe the Lotus folks read along and put a little more effort in making it a special occasion.
  18. Paging @glen8, the Photoshop wizard! 🙂 🙂
  19. Nimbus sure glitters like a lollypop! 😃 👍 About Magma red => On picture one would say it looks like Calypso Red instead of Fire Red. Shows again the importance of Real Life Viewing vs Forum World Seeing. 😌
  20. Thanks for all the input! Like most of the people here say: it's probably a whole other sight in real life. Red would be my favourite, Nimbus could be the surprise of the day. 🙂
  21. Would be handy if a Mercedes dealer could do the maintenance for the AMG engine, but that would probably be wishful thinking, I guess...
  22. UK road shows start the day after tomorrow and colour samples should be available when the car is displayed. In this topic you can post your pictures of those colour samples, starting with the six colours for the First Edition. In later stages the additional colour pics can also be posted here. This extra topic can be useful to create an entire database only for colours. All pictures of the Emira samples are more then welcome: day light pics, night time, artificial light, foggy day, all kind of angles... With a little luck we'll get a collection that can help others decide what colour to choose. I'm waiting forward the see the first pictures! 🙂
