  1. Having test driven an Evora GT410 this week, the one thing I’d like to see before commitment (along with colours in the flesh, but more important) is the final production seat height. Thought the GT410 was a cracking car but for me the seats were too high, with my eyeline at the top of the windscreen. I understand this is a common complaint and Jamie at B&C was confident the Emira seats are set a few cm lower and will be ok for anyone up to 6”5. But then, have read elsewhere that it will be similar to the GT410, which would be a problem for me and I’m only 6”1 (albeit not long legs). Apologies off topic but any insight from people here?
  2. You would indeed hope so and given the relative power to weight and comparative chassis it would be rather surprising if it did not. AWD Audi might be quicker to 30mph, along with most electric family cars.
  3. I’m hearing that due to massive order numbers for the Emira in China the V6 removal was negotiated in Glasgow in return for the weakened coal pledge.
  4. If the option is to pay £77k up front or £78.4k over 3 years I think I’d take the finance option. At 5.9% and no finance contribution, I’d be less keen. Can’t really see how it’s a scam - you can just pay the balance after 3 years (instead of up front) and you own the car same as if you’d bought it outright.
  5. Thanks for sharing, sounds like they’ll allow changes at the time we fully commit but want to avoid constant changes to spec beforehand, which I can understand.
  6. If that’s the case (which hopefully it won’t be), they need to make it easy for us to change our spec before 5 November. I received email confirmation of my configuration but no idea how I can then change the spec to a final configuration I’m locked into on 5 Nov.
  7. He did mention that regs driven and expectation that first UK/Europe deliveries likely earlier than RoW. Nothing more specific than that though.
  8. Wasn’t Scott but was someone that one of the other Lotus guys went to fetch when he couldn’t answer any of my questions. Spoke with confidence on the subject - was able to quote order numbers pre Goodwood and for each day of Goodwood, which put my 9 July deposit around 800 on the list. Sounded about right.
  9. Just back from B&C. No info on options pricing but was told categorically by one of the Lotus fellas who seemed to know what he was talking about that the base I4 will be £58k. Double checked with him and confirmed £58k to work in market against the competition. May be that I’ve missed it but don’t think I’ve seen that number quoted before. On delivery timing, late April /early May for first cars, but got the impression it will be May, so late Spring. With my Goodwood Friday deposit, was told likely towards end of 2022. Also told 2,750 UK deposits currently and similar number for overseas (with around 50% of those being US). Since pricing announced for V6 FE 20 deposits pulled per day but 25 new ones placed. Might not be right but that’s what I was told this evening. Still no clue on colour.
  10. I’m with you, will find it hard to move from blue based on those colours. Seeing them live tonight so hopefully a bit different in the flesh.
  11. I placed deposit on 9 July - online with Lotus after seeing it at Goodwood earlier in the day. Will be V6 manual. Still waiting for the 0330 call!
  12. Emira will be a rare beast in Japan, hope the pricing is not prohibitive. I lived for a bit in Tokyo, just round the corner from the McLaren garage, good for a weekend browse, never let me take one out though ☹️
  13. Sorry if a stupid question, but what then happens in 2023 when they are building the base edition with presumably both engines? Has to then be in tandem?
  14. Anyone who placed a deposit as late as FOS had a call yet? Or even early July before FOS? At the price and options included I’m 100% in, but I fear that 0330 number won’t be ringing any time soon! scrap that - see there is another thread covering this
  15. Spot on. I configured a Cayman GTS a few weeks back and my build was £76k, without the fancy stereo. Pricing is pretty close between the two.
  16. And £400 for alcantara wheel but not sure how you add the wheel colour strip. Overall FE price seems in line with well optioned Cayman GTS 4.0. I guess once you’ve added a few things like black pack and alcantara wheel, plus year 1 tax you’re at around £80k

    I’m in same ballpark, but will go with £7.5k difference for the Sherry sweepstake
  22. No plans to pull my deposit, but sound is main concern as assume Lotus will get the handling/feel right. Not a daily for me so do want the same (or close to same) drama as the current V6. Keen to see colours in the flesh but loved the blue at Goodwood, so that works for me if others don’t.
  23. For me, it was 981 GT4/Spyder or Evora Gt410 sport. It will be replacing a Z4MC so looking for similar practicality, with lots of my driving involving taking one of my kids somewhere, often with some sports gear thrown in. Also looked at Vantage V12 manual, but clearly a different beast and too scared or running costs. And another thought was to keep the Z4 (and tell the wife it’s really more of an ISA than a vehicle) and get a caterham or elise. But then I barely have time to drive one of them. I do still have a deposit down on a 718 Spyder, but without any realistic expectation that an allocation will come my way. If it does come in, I will have some serious thinking (and explaining) to do as don’t have the cash or space for both.
  24. Thanks both, very excited about the prospect of owning a lotus and hoping we get some more info soon on options, pricing, timing etc - have read comments on other threads. Ramjet, on the wheels, one of the light weight options and most likely black to complement the black pack. I have a mini with same colour combo so hoping there’ll look good together.
