Hi Every one, I have been searching the forum for brake pad # for the 01 Esprit with AP brakes, Can somebody give me part # for the front and rear pads and who has them???? ---EBC or Porterfield. Also, does anyone know if an available front brake flex lines are avail and is there a alternative manfac or car line that will fit. Question, what year did lotus start fitting the AP calipers.   4. Had the same problem, everyone tells me its idle learn, Its a gm system and not that bad at learning. if you have idling problems when warmed up and its been driven a while, disconect purge solonoid under rear window, if idling fault goes away drive it may be canister fault. Pete
  5. Hi, I have cut them sucessfully on the lathe, 1.5 thou either side, turn rotor fast and slow traverse, nice new sharp bits. remember to tighten wheels evenly and to spec, over or under or uneven can warp rotors. Pete in AZ.........

  8. HI, LOKING TO TIGHTEN THE SECURING RINGS THAT HOLD THE SPEEDO AND TACH, CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO REMOVE THE TOP INSTRUMENT COVER TO GAIN ACSESS, I SEE TWO SCREWS BUT SOMTHING ELSE IS HOLDING IT???? 2001 V8 PETE IN AZ.

  10. Info for all in the USA Had the battery light come on and tested to find the diode was bad. Found a direct fit and better output, stock output is 100amp but this one max at 151amps Here is the part # 19134282 AC Delco. Get it from any GM dealer. 247 bucks Pete

Hi There are two totally differant proceeders, ecm relearn is for fuel trim, idle and drivabilty. emission testing on OBD2 is proceeders the ecm carries out by testing O2, cats, purge and tank leak tests, in the US after a code reset the vehicle must be driven from cold to make sureO2 heaters and cat tests are completed. recomended is drive for a couple of days and drive on the highway at a substained speed for 10mins at 45mph. In OBD2 generic look at the monitors and check to make sure tests is showing complete. usually the tank must be above 1/4 but not full and ambiant temp under 100 degrees or the evap test wont run. (A summer prob we have here in PHX)

  17. HI GUYS. On a previous post I mentioned the car was stalling if more that half a tank, narrowed it down to purge, if I disconect purge cellonoid I can fill the tank and all is well. done it for a month. when connected and stopping at a light vehicle starts to purge and idle surges and stalls. this is a 2001 V8 with the redesiged canister and seperated purge cellonoid, I have checked data, purge cellonoid, vent cellonoid and canister, all checked ok. it looks like the roll over valves are part of the tank and can't figure a way to test them, other than changing a whole bunch of stuff, any ideas????   18. Hi everyone. Help needed if possible. Ever since I got the car (3months) I have had a stalling problem when coming to an intersection or light. If the wait was more than about 10 seconds the idle will flucuate from 1000 to 500 and then stumble and stall. Initially I thought it was the IAC. I removed and cleaned/tested it and that seems fine. after further testing and driving I found that if I keep the gas tank at about 1/4 or the first line on the gauge, (low fuel light just coming on) it idles ok. idle is smoother and no flucuation and no stall. My conclusion is that the purge canister is saturating or it is purging at idle? I have a LAUNCH scan tool but it doesnt give me the PID for the purge pulse signal. I am guessing its modulated in %. The car is a stock 2001 with lotus installed high torque pcm. Thanks Pete in AZ.........................................................
  19. Hi Thanks for all the info. Question, somebody told me that these pipes are not supported well and may sag, is this correct? also with these pipes are they extremely loud or as I have heard, not much louder? Thanks Pete
