  5. A good example of a Lotus Esprit Guigario 1982 in beautiful silver with a black interior with black/grey leather seats , and with only 63,886 miles on the clock. The car comes complete with supporting documents for MOT's and service history. This car has done less than 50 miles since the it passed its MOT in May 07 and is currently declared SORN. This fine vintage British sports car has had new water pump, fuel pump, radiator, air trumpets and K&N air filter within the last year and is a pleasure to drive and will give many miles of exhilarating and passionate driving throughout the summer and beyond. Due to losing my garage for a extension in coming months I need to sell my pride and joy .I have owned this for over 3 years.I am happy to arrange viewing

  6. Lotus Esprit Turbo (21000 miles) 1985 (P/P), Registered in 1985, this particular car is a relatively late example of the Giorgetto Giugiaro model, although it precedes the last of the line (215bhp) cars which were badged 'HC', As such it has the type '910' 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 210bhp and 200lb/ft of torque courtesy of it's 16v head, Garrett T3 turbo and twin Dellorto carbs, In Calypso red with Magnolia hide it has been in the same ownership since 1990 and has clearly spent the majority of it's life in dry storage, Although there is not extensive history, there is enough documentation to support that the 21000 miles are genuine and correct, Significant options fitted from new include Full Leather trim, Air-conditioning, Factory fitted (period) Pioneer stereo and removable Targa glass sunroof, all of which would have added £3000 or so to it's list price in 1985 taking it to around £25000. In terms of price, this was about 50% more than the all new Ford Sierra RS Cosworth (first seen in late 1985) which offered similar straight line performance, very similar to a (slower) Porsche 944 and considerably cheaper than the Ferrari 308. The strength of the Esprit was, as has always been the case with Lotus's, it's nimble chassis and handling thanks to it's low kerb weight, Coupled with a characterful 4-cylinder engine with a very distinctive 'twin cam' note these cars offered excellent performance which even today would still be considered 'quick', Top speed was often quoted around the 150 mark, although in reality was closer to 140, with the 0-60 time generally in the mid-late 5's aided by excellent mid-engined traction, This performance certainly compared well with the cars' rivals of the day which included the aforementioned Porsche 944 (and later 16v 'S' although 944 Turbos were too expensive), TVR 350i and the quirky Renault GTA Turbo. The Esprit Turbo had originally come about in 1980 and was a development of the Esprit S1/S2 normally aspirated models which were first produced in 1976, and made rather famous by Roger Moore as James Bond in 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. James Bond liked it so much that he soon traded up, in 1981, to a Turbo model as driven enthusiastically in 'For Your Eyes Only' ! Whilst the Turbo model shared some visual similarities with the lesser S2 model, in reality it was both heavily re-styled and re-engineered. Significantly, the new type '910' engine was an earlier type '907' re-designed from end to end and, interestingly, differs in almost every detail from the naturally aspirated 2.2 litre units used in the Esprit S2 and another interesting car of the day, the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. The bodyshell styling was extensively changed, both for aerodynamic and aesthetic purposes. At the front there was a much larger wrap around bumper with deep spoiler and matching skirts along the sides and under the doors, and also NACA type ducts to feed cooling air towards the engine compartment . At the rear there was a functional rear spoiler, a much larger rear bumper (with huge 'Lotus' insignia) and above the engine compartment a Venetian blind style louvred panel (usually black, but colour coded on this particular car), All of this was complimented by extremely attractive, and very wide for the day, BBS cross-spoke alloys (which as with the louvre panel have been colour coded on this car) This particular car now offers a relatively rare opportunity. Whilst 'only' 22 years old, it offers a glorious step back in time to an era now gone and provides a huge amount of fun. It drives extremely well and is still decently quick, performing as it should, with excellent brakes, steering and handling. It also sound glorious with a distinctive twin cam note. In other words, it still drives much as it would have in 1985, and not as 20+ year old cars perhaps sometimes do ! The other point worth noting is that it is totally depreciation proof. This vehicle has been stored, with very low usage for much of it's life, and one thing is for sure, if it is kept in the condition it is now, then it will only continue to go up in value. From that point of view it must surely be a good investment. 10 years from now, what would a (genuinely) really clean 32 year old Esprit Turbo with, let's say, 25000 miles be worth ? Included in the price will be a major 'C' type service including all fluids, filters and cambelt replacement. PRICE £11995 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION. 9. Esprit S3 1983 Black with 107,000 miles. The car has had an engine rebuild at 88,000 and a top end rebuild just completed as seen in the pics with - new cam belt, new valves, filters etc. I am moving abroad to Bulgaria where the bumpy roads would eat my car for breakfast so I am sadly parting with it. The interior is near perfect with both seats needing minor stitching but no tears. All electrics work perfectly and the car has been used daily during its time with me. I have tons of history including a full classic car inspection report done 5 years ago with a lot of work/receipts done since. 4 to 1 SJ manifold is less than 2 years old, new clutch slave and cylinder. Good tyres. Please email me with ANY questions about the car if you are interested, i am open to offers! Thanks Mark
