  1. Hi Nick, Sorry to hear about the prang and the non coverage by the insurance company. Ouch! I hope the rebuild goes well. Regards, Peter.
  2. I talked to EFI's UK distributor (EFI make the V8 ECU) about the ECU a while back. He confirmed that the ECU is mappable via a CAN bus link. He wanted about
  3. Hi Brian, I hope you had a great day. Regards, Peter.
  4. Hi Paul, Sorry I missed this post when you 1st posted it. Are you sure that the code was 338? P0328 is an error code related to the Knock sensor.
  5. I may be wrong here, but Graham's 100k miles car is a GT3. So a different engine with different components. Hence, not sure how relevant it is in regards to a V8. Has anyone done 100k miles on a V8 yet and if yes, has it had a rebuild in that time?
  6. I had diverter valve problems in the past, but when its working the car warms up very well. If your car temp is in the normal running range then you should get warm.
  7. Hi Tony, I hope you had a great day. Ignore them all, there's nothing wrong with being 42. Regards, Peter.
  8. Is it this A38 Lay-by? I don't think Mike was there two years ago, so just wanted to clarify location. Regards, Peter.
  9. Hi Rick, Congratulations on the S4S. Hope to see it at one of the South West meets. Regards, Peter.
  10. Most of you probably already know that South West Lotus Centre have their open day on the 26th September. I received their promotion postcard this morning and it states that they will have the Noble M600 there. So may be worth a visit to see if it looks better in the flesh than the publicity photos previously posted on LEF.
  11. Hi Gary, The Cheddar Gorge PH meet is also on the 6th September. Decisions, Decisions! Regards, Peter.
  12. Hi Mike, Great news that its back on the road. Have fun commuting to Dusseldorf in it. Regards, Peter.
  13. I'm not going either. I need to drive to London Sunday evening and just don't fancy driving 100 or so miles Sunday morning, rushing home and then jumping straight back in a car to drive up to London. I hope that the rest of you have fun. Regards, Peter.
  14. Hi Wayne, Thanks for the 'Top Tip'. Do you know any others? Regards, Peter.
  15. Hi Albino, Error code P1460 is according to the Lotus Service manual: Air Conditioning Control Relay P1460 Open Circuit Description: Circuit check Malfunction Criteria: Logic level low Secondary enable conditions: Relay state off Disabled by faults: None Time required: 1 set; 2 trips required Potential failure modes: - Connectors - Wire open circuit - Relay missing - Relay faulty - ECM input Limp home: None Have you got any other error codes occurring? I'm surprised that an A/C related error can cause your engine to 'shut down'/loose power. Your last description could be a problem with the Idle Air Control Valve causing the car to stall when hot. Is the idle OK when you start from cold? Also you mentioned that you had changed the exhaust. Have you got the oxygen sensors wired up correctly? Regards, Peter.
  16. Hi Paul, Looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at some time. Regards, Peter.
  17. Hi Cliff, I've got the Autocar magazine with the S4S winning it. If you fancy a read, I'll try to remember to bring it along to Wings & Wheels. Regards, Peter.
  18. Hi Blake, ISO9141 is the correct protocol. Just in case you have a wiring issue, have you tried both OBD ports (in the boot between the relay box & battery, and in the passenger foot well)? According to the V8 ECU itself, it uses OBD I. Does your scantool have any set up parameters? There may be a set up for the protocol and some timing parameters. It could be useful to name the tool you are trying to use, as someone else may have already successfully used one. Regards, Peter.
  19. Hi Mike, Congratulations on selling the Carlton. Fortunately for you and Fran you still have some Lotus toys to play with. As your Carlton is the only Carlton I've driven I'm personally a bit sad to see it go. Regards, Peter.
  20. Hi Mike, Congratulations on the new car. I also have a soft spot for some of the TVR cars. The TVRs that could cause me to go over to the dark side are the Griffith 500 and Cerbera 4.5. Hopefully, I'll get to see your 280i at one of the south west PistonHead meets. Regards, Peter.
