  1. I have a traditional Silva compass. It would be at least 30 years old. One of the simple fluid filled ones. Brilliant. Would always tell Liz any planned route and times. I can quite easily sleep on a foam mat in a sleeping bag. Sleeping is one of the easy things.
  2. @Kimbers Ya' big panty waist! @Bibs Yeah, I know the hour hand and twelve thing. Many years as a Cub, Scout and Venturer. If I go hiking and I take my phone, it would live in my pack and not close to hand.
  3. I am thinking of taking this up again. I used to do this a lot when I was younger (and single) but there is a part of me that just wants to get away from things and let my mind relax. I have thought about getting myself some sort of watch which has a compass etc. but trying to wade through the multitude of watches is daunting. I would also be looking at getting myself the rest of the gear that one would need. Backpack, bivvie tent, etc. I was planning on doing this with my daughters partner (ex SAS), and am feeling things out to see what I would be up for. So based on the above, is there anyone on here that does similar and has any recommendations of equipment? Thanks guys
  4. Welcome to TLF @MrBlueSky As C8RKH said, we would all like to see some photos. You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi in there as well.
  5. And I highly doubt it will be of a concern in the Emira. If Mr. Button is to be believed, and I don't see why we wouldn't, the Emira is a step up.
  6. I would say the chat person got it wrong. Much earlier information has said that everyones dates would be honoured. So what spec did you ask for on your tv? And no. There is no need to start another thread. In here is fine.
  7. I was always taught, car vibration = rear wheels. Steering wheel vibration = front wheels. Wheels probably balanced at a lower speed which isn't showing up until you reach a higher rotational speed.
  8. Fair enough. I wonder if they are going to build models with different exhaust configurations as the same laws would not apply here? Does anything have to be done with the ECU if the exhaust configuration is changed? If that was the case it could be probable that the same exhaust configuration may end up here as well.
  9. Does the car have different modes that you can select? Is the ECU switching between modes on its own for some reason?
  10. Ok. If you have an Evija deposit, please put your hand up and I'll publicly apologise. And yes, you have to show proof of your deposit. I'm not just going take you at your word. Sorry, but that's me.
  11. Ahh. The old autocorrect and the writer not checking before posting. I have been caught by this myself, but generally only in texts to family or occasionally on here. What I have found is where things like this get seen, it doesn't appear that the original writer goes back and corrects the mistype? Whatever happened to chief editors vetting pieces before they were 'printed'?
  12. I have to ask why people keep saying this regarding the Emira? Lotus gave the car a completely different name. Lotus didn't call it the Evora S6 or anything like that. Bibs has said that the Emira and the Evora don't have any parts in common. Ok, the V6 and its associated gearbox choice are the same, but that's it. The I4 with a DCT box will not have any parts in common with the Evora, so where does the new frock thought come from? Not having a crack at you Simon, but you are not the only person to have said similar on here. To me, the Emira looks far more like a baby Evija than it does a 'refrocked' Evora.
  13. I can't imagine why it would not sound as good?
  14. Welcome to TLF John. Only 7 photos? Oh ok. Very nice. 👍 Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help.

  16. Welcome to TLF @bbpxbbpx To let you k ow, I was mucking around on the configurator and I don't mind the body colour going over the roof. Looks better in some colours than others though. Best of luck deciding. Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help.
  17. Welcome to TLF @LucyintheSky. Congratulations on your Emira deposit. Which model etc are you looking at getting? Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help. ps. Why "Lucy"? Or are you really a "Lucy" using "Nicolas's" email address?
  18. I didn't vote. It would still be 'None' which isn't an option in the poll.
  19. But for the different reg plates and that we can see the rear of the RHS car, I thought that maybe you had cut one car in half. I don't know what job you would want to do that for though? Some sort of work on the firewall?

    Lotus Emira

What markets are available to these cars? The Ariel Atom could not be sold here for the road due to the safety requirements here. I presume that these would not meet the safety requirements here in Australia either. The USA is a strange one as they seem to have safety requirements for new cars, but once you own a car there you seem to be able to make whatever sort of changes you want and strip the car right down to its bare bones.
  21. Imagine the size of the automated drone that will deliver an Emira by air?
  22. If you 'own' the Tweet and someone reposts it, (I don't even know if that is possible), does that mean they have to pay you some sort of copyright fee as you are the owner? Or can you take them to court over breach of copyright?
  23. How do you buy and own a Tweet? If I didn't know better, I would say that someone saw that person coming.
  24. If that happens, what would be the flow on effect to Lotus for instance?
  25. Well he replied. "From a dealer, but the issues stem from Lotus itself." So that is from the owner. Where did he get this information? The dealer or Lotus? It is just too easy for a dealer to say Lotus is the issue. Without a lot more information and proof, I'm not about to say who is at fault.
