  1. Hi All Not had a minute to myself this year due to work and not been out in my Esprit since Christmas...! Hope to get back into the swing of things soon but really need some help first...! If any of you have an Elan Sprint circa 1972, I would really appreceiate some photo's of the rear edge of the bonnet where the latches locate. Please pm me if you can help out and I will send you my email address. Many thanks in advance...!
  2. Seen in Easingwold near York on Saturday. Looked fantastic in the afternoon sunshine, I was just too slow to ambush him...!
  3. Sorry to hear your sad news Tony... A lot of years ago I had a friend who hung himself, from the outside looking in everything looked rosy. It was only later that we found out that his wife (Whom I knew from school) had been pushing him to work more and more so she could live the high life. The only funeral I have been to and it was so distressing, nobody could look anyone else in the eye,and the strangest thing was a car he had painted for me and I had sold drove past as I turned into the crematorium.... More recently another friend did the same as a result of gambling debts,a mere £4000 for a life... He said nothing and then it was too late. I feel for everybody concerned...

  9. My condolences to you both...
  10. He's probaly already guilty to some Roger.....! Might as well get hung for a sheep as a lamb....!
  11. A warm welcome to TLF Vern! Sounds like the start of an interesting project,we need photo's,lots of photo's.....!
  12. Can't fault your enthusiasm and determination Wayne....! It's making entertaining reading at any rate! Keep it up mate....!
  13. Have you heard how work is progressing on your car Bibs...? Obviously the "Festive Period" will have stopped work for a bit...!
  14. Steve,Have you taken the top off the brake master cylinder...? Be careful not to let any excess fluid spill out as it is a very effective paint stripper...! You may need to remove some fluid if your old pads were very worn.
  15. John,Yes Travis was a motocross rider and I think really made his name competing in the X-Game events. He competes for Subaru USA in the rallying too. His co-driver on the event in Scotland was none other than Colins old partner Derek Ringer, who I know from my days on the WRC with Mitsubishi. Toby,Not sure which Karl you mean, but I remember we had a few extra hands on deck for that rally! Cars were being run by Bill Gwynne Motorsport and are part of a private collection owned by a chap called Steve Rimmer. He's English but has lived in America for many years. The two Escorts, amongst others, featured at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2008.
  16. Good information there Dave. Keep us posted on how they perform once scrubbed in...!
  17. What make did you get? At least you have some fresh rubber on the traction end of the car...!
  18. Nice one Mat...! I looked after Travis on the 2008 Colin McRae Stages Rally, along with fellow American driver Ken Block. Travis is a top bloke, very friendly and enthusiastic! He drove the ex Roger Clark "Daily Express" RS1600 Mk1 Escort and finished very well for a first attempt in a RWD car. Not a mark on the car ,although the rear screen popped out leaving him a bit chilly for a couple of stages...! Team mate Ken managed to roll a £70k "Eaton's Yale" replica RS1800 Mk2 Escort on the pre event test..... It took us a lot of hours to get the car back in shape for the start...! The car was "wrapped" in Monster Energy Drink/DC Shoes livery for the rally which covered up some rough edges...
  19. Boots, whom is called Sue was at the Factory Frolic, has a pale mettalic blue 1984 G car. Her husband,Mr John111 helps her with maintainance etc. Could this be the lady Sparky and yourself assisted Dave....?
  20. Good man,I know it stings a bit when it's not your fault and at this time of year etc....!
