  1. Nige. I'll take that spare seat then matey ........... thanks Dave Lisle. We are 3 Esprits ( You, Nige and Ade Heath ) Dave Walters. Just north of Whitchurch Dave. Ticket prices vary. Entrance for car and driver on the day is £20. If you want Paddock entrance then that's extra. Be good to see you there. Graham
  2. Gentlemen, This months sortie sees us visiting Cholmondeley Castle just north of Whitchurch. You have pre-ordered your admission tickets and will be displaying your Esprits on the Club Lotus Cheshire site. All display cars must be inside the venue BEFORE 8am when the gates open for Joe Public. Cheshire Police will also be closing the access road at the same time. To enable to arrive on time we MUST leave the Gingerbread Man in Market Drayton by 7.30am to avoid those road and gate closures. I'm aiming to get to the Gingerbread Man around 7.20am. I will be travelling in my day car
  3. Guys, You don't know the half of it. I can't go to print on here. The system involving insurers, police forces, claims management companies and lawyers is a cesspit waiting ti implode. I'm glad I'm not part of it. My clients cross my threshold of their own free will. I've never bought an accident victim and never will which probably means I'll be out of business in 12 months
  4. Excellent day. Big thanks to Martyn for organising. Which one of you b*stards painted my face red when I dropped off to sleep? Can't get the bloody stuff off ................ ouch ! Lets see some pics folks
  5. Dave Walters ( too many Daves on tis Forum ) Bring the gazebo mate. It worked a treat last time. Is it waterproof? Yesterday's scorcher turned out to be torrential rain here See you later team
  6. Jon, This is an outdoor event although there is a cafe inside the museum. You can usually get burgers, hog roast etc outside and perhaps a curry inside. Beer is usually scarce. I have amended the list because we can NOT guarantee a place for your passenger. We are trying to get more tickets but this is down to the organisers and not us. If we can't get more ticktes, he/she will have to pay at the door. Fingers crossed 1. Officer Dibble + 1 ( bacon butties x 2 ) 2. Oneshot + 1 (bacon butties x 2) 3. Dodgy ( what Alex GT3 says x2 ) 4. 7. Dave, No. I think it's down to them to check the thread. I'm pretty sure they know.
  8. Sorry guys but I've had to mess with the list again. The thought of having 25 attendees just didn't gel with me. I've preserved your bacon butty Alan 1. 10. Trev, We won't get the tickets until the morning. We're trying to arrange for a cavalcade into the arena sometime after 9.30am. If you're planning to arrive much later than that then I can only suggest phoning one of us when you get there so that we can come and find you on the external car park. Graham
  11. Blimey, is it really 12 months Time flies. I imagine you've been invited up to take all those new models unvieled in Paris around the new track so that they can start production If they let you keep the new Esprit, bring it Super Car Sunday so that we can all take it for a spin on the Jaguar test track
  12. The second one I sent you was only addressed to you and not the entire flight. Are you still able to receive PM's from others? Presume you've checked that your Inbox is not full?
  13. Thanks for that Alex. Mrs Oneshot is usually a passenger on this event so she too may be able to make that call. PM me your number as well Nige and that way we'll maximise coverage
  14. Thanks John. I'm expecting this venture to be a life long challenge although talk of "sequencers" is another issue. My late father was a Yamaha electric keyboard player and some of the backing rhythms on that thing were great. It's now sitting in my house so perhaps I could use that as a sequencer Thanks again folks. Graham
  15. Thanks Ben and Paul C Sadly Ben I'm a fair few miles away from Surrey ( Stafford ) but I'll take on board your advice and act accordingly. Much appreciated Graham
  16. Thanks guys. Just remembered that up in the loft are a couple of Wharfedale speakers and an Akai or Aiwa amp dating back to the late 70's ( University days ) Any idea whether they'd be compatible with todays modern guitars ? I'm intending to set up in the garage although may have to re-think that plan when winter returns
  17. Thanks Buddsy. I'll check him out although I'm more of a geriatric rock geezer really
  18. About 25 years ago I bought myself an electric guitar and small amp from the local music shop. Think they both may have been second-hand which wasn't an issue. I was a thwarted rock star determined to come good and if I did it on second-hand kit then all the better ............. perhaps I still had a bit of punk metality Anyway, after what felt like 12 months of hard labour I'd just about mastered Mull of Kintyre ................ and that was it For the youngsters out there, Mull of Kintyre was a popular little tune performed by a chap called McCartney who was once big in the band
  19. I'm sure one of the radio ops chaps can organise something

  22. As you guys know from the Events thread, this months sortie is the trip to Super Car Sunday at Gaydon on the 26th. As in previous years, the plan is to link up at two points namely Hilton Park on the M6 and Frankley on the M5. After that, its M42/M40 So, we need to leave Hilton Park at 7.45am and on approach to Frankley, one of us will call the Frankley contingent so that they can join the flight as we pass. We should be passing Frankley at about 8am and be Gaydon for Bacon Butties and coffee by 9am. Could you please sign below indicating where you intend to join the flight:
