  1. I have a set of calipers, for an Evora S, but think they will fit the NA (byer to check). I purchased these with a view to changing my yellows ones, but never got around to it. I have added an image of the costs if purchased from deroure.com. The are a small number of scratches from storage but they are not on the visible side o the calipers. I have tried to show them in the photos. I’m open to reasonable offers.   2. LOTUS ESPRIT V8 GT Year: 1999 Lotus began delivering the Esprit in 1976 and the final examples of the 10,500 units built didn’t roll out of the production halls until 28 years later in 2003. Its extreme, yet classical and timeless wedge shape was based on design proposals by Giorgetto Giugiaro and didn’t undergo a major facelift until 1988. The low vehicle height of just 1.12 metres is also extreme and makes it appear incredibly fast, even when stationary. Most Esprits were fitted with 4-cylinder engines with a 2 or 2.2-litre displacement. From 1996, the Esprit could also be ordered with the newly-developed 3.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Approximately 1,500 buyers now found themselves equipped with car engines on a par with the super sports cars from famous Italian car manufacturers. The exterior is finished in the striking combination of Azure Blue with Gun Metal Grey, 6 spoke O.Z Racing wheels. Along the side and to the rear there are various decals celebrating Lotus and even a Colin Chapman signature to the rear. The interior is striking with the door cards and Carbon Fibre Bucket seats being trimmed in Magnolia leather with blue Alcantara inserts, the seats have V8 embroidered to the top and the door cards have the Lotus Emblem to the centre. The rest of the interior is finished in black leather and carpet throughout. To the road, power certainly is not in short supply with the 3.5 litre V8 twin turbo engine producing 345 hp, and as ever the lotus has the handling ability to support this power. I purchase a centre Stainless steel exhaust from PNM Engineering in august of 2019 and the car sounds awesome. We also refreshed the wishbone bushes, gearbox and engine mounts. It has had a 17 dealer services as stamped in the service booklet. A major service was carried out in July 2019 which include Cambelts, tensioners and idlers totalling £1600. It has just been serviced on 16th June 2021 at a cost of £1100. This was also when the MOT was done. It’s just returned from its 2nd NC500 trip which it is the ideal car for. I’ve added a few charge points, and an Android Joying stereo Sat Nav unit is available if wanted. It’s has reversing sensors and an Optimate charging lead/point fitted. (Rear camera also can be used but not wired up yet – license plate surround type) It now has audible indicators – a bug bear of mine from the original set up. And you need to be a contortionist to do it! I’ve fitted a light to the boot and 12V outlets there too. It really is an amazing car and the colour just pops out in the sunshine! I’ve owned it for 3 years and I’m the 3rd owner ( my 4th Lotus and the one I’ve owned the longest) but seriously considering moving to an Evora (or Jag F type) so also open to P/ex or swap.   14. I have found that you cannot get a replacement aerial that fits in the space of a Stevens esprit. Whatever the classic aerial shops say. The only option is to rebuild. Sadly relays etc that fit are also hard to come by. I have had two aerials rebuilt.   15. This naturally aspirated Esprit looks great in black with JPS-style gold wheels and stripe. However what sets this car apart is the various improvements made under the body (outlined below), which should very much appeal if you are looking for a mechanically sorted Esprit to drive. I have owned this car since 2010, and drove it very regularly until 2016 when it cut out one day and would not start. The arrival of a baby, new house and then second baby meant that it sat in my garage for almost 5 years (!) waiting for me to fix it. But fix it I have (it was, annoyingly, something quite simple in the end), and while it is great to have the car going again, time has come for me to part with it. This is a well looked after car (check the online MOT history), with almost all work carried out by myself during my ownership. The car has a detailed history and a file of receipts for everything that has been done. Please note that the car is located in the north east of Scotland, around 30miles west of Aberdeen. MOT until April 2022 Engine The car has a fuel injected HC engine with L14 cams and vernier pulleys. The cylinder head has been gas-flowed with 3-angle cut valve seats (done by Gary Kemp). It has an MBE 956 ECU, TWM throttle bodies and Bosch fuel injectors. The engine was completely rebuilt at around 99,000 miles. After the rebuild the ecu was re-mapped on a rolling road, and showed around 225hp/200ftlb torque. As with any rolling road figure I would take this with a serious pinch of salt, but it is significantly faster than a standard car. It has lots of torque (it will happily take almost any corner in 4th gear) and is very progressive in terms of power delivery, right up to the limit. It has a brand new PNM engineering hi-torque starter motor and Yuasa battery, along with a new coil-pack, crank sensor, plugs and leads (all replaced as part of the quest to remedy the non-start issue). Engine newly serviced (oil, filter, coolant, thermostat), with the timing belt also just replaced. Exhaust It has a Lotusbits full stainless steel exhaust system with 4-2-1 manifold. This has a single exhaust pipe. I would note that the car is significantly louder than standard, but with a lovely mechanical howl from the intake and the exhaust. Gearbox/Linkage/Clutch The gearbox in the car has been newly re-built. All the linkages and the crossgate cable have been replaced in my ownership and are still good. It has the early 0.86:1 ratio pivot leaver and the SJ Sportscars gearchange modification fitted. As a result the gear leaver is a pleasure to use. The clutch and pressure plate were replaced at 81K. It has a stainless steel braded clutch hose fitted. Suspension Being an ‘85 car, it has the later Toyota style front suspension without trunnions. It has the Lotus-developed Bilstein Dampers / Eibach Springs fitted, along with the Lotus-developed Polybushes throughout (except for the anti-roll bar bushes, which were replaced with standard items). Brakes & Wheels PNM engineering 286mm Hi-Spec 4-pot front callipers and vented discs. New EBC Yellowstuff pads to the front. Standard rear callipers. Brake fluid newly replaced. It has a stainless steel braded brake hoses fitted front and rear. Matching Vredestein SP tires (195x55x15R to front; 225/60x15R to rear). The wheels were refurbished in 2012, but some corrosion is appearing through the paint again. Fuel Tanks Lotusbits aluminium fuel tanks with in-built swirl pots for the fuel injection system. Large diameter cross pipe (makes filling up much quicker). Interior / Exterior The car was re-trimmed in full leather around the year 2000, but the seats are now showing some wear. Otherwise it is in good general condition. It has the fully removable sunroof. The car was originally red, and was re-sprayed by the last owner around the year 2000. It polishes up well enough, but there are some blemishes/stone chips/etc. Final Note This is a good value, very usable Esprit, looking for the right owner. It is noisy, fast and fun.
