  1. Cause you think Campos Meta (or whatever that team may be called) will be faster than Lotus! I don't I think so! The team will go back to the RTN! Figure out as much as they can and slash has much weight as they can before thursday! They'll get to work on the downforce issue and get within two/three seconds of the best teams by the end of Barcelona Testing! They'll head to Bahrain suffer like hell for the first four GP and get a T127 v2 for Barcelona and the start of the European season! Lotus Racing has already done wonders so far! I 'm looking forward to the fight between Virgin and Lotus even if it's all the way at the back of the pack! And yes we are going to get lapped a silly number of times at the beginning but we are an underdog team so there's nothing wrong with that. I just hope that extra sponsorship will materialize soon for both Lotus Racing and Virgin Racing. I know we are fully funded for this year but ...
  2. Guys, the current owners are Malaysian so they may prefer it that way! But the ownership may very well evolve before long. Group Lotus has been more than active at using Lotus Racing! Lotus Racing opted to use AP Racing and not Brembo...yes I know it doesn't mean much these days! The logo has evolved into something more Lotus and somebody way high up at Lotus/Proton gave the right to use the denomination T127 all of that would not be possible without Group Lotus agreement. Tony Fernandes himself said it at the beginning, Lotus Cars may invest in Lotus Racing. Well I don't think we'll have to hold our breath very long. Most companies willing to associate with Lotus will do it because of the link to Group Lotus. The fact that the company will stay in Norfolk in a foreseeable future is a clear sign too!!! Proton signed Dany Bahar to run Lotus, well the guy is no fool he wants in! Give Tony Fernandes time to develop this company and make the best out of it from is point of view and little by little Bahar will up his involvement. Lotus may run under a British License again in the future I'm going to give it 3 years!
  3. Well, that was to be expected! But I'm not even hoping to listen to that anthem. It's still a Norfolk based team with a car that's BRG and yellow. It's the same at RedBull Racing and I hear nobody complain about that. Of course Redbull is no Lotus!
  4. There are lots of interesting details on the car. the front wing is a work of art! The rear diffuser is very interesting too! The upper part of the car is quite simple and clean which means lots of room for improvement as we progress into the season. I like it a lot!

  8. Well it was worth asking it! I can't wait for friday! Is it me or the Lotus marking on the engine cover is the 'LOTUS Watches' logo?!
  9. Finally, Green, Black and Gold! I wonder if it will be the final livery ; Tune group on the side pods and no Air Asia marking visible it's a bit strange !!! I like the design but it does look a bit rough around the edges! Bibs can you confirm if it's the final livery!
  10. I got two questions why a GT4 and not a GT3?! Why only 400 bhp in race trim while Porsche can suck substantially more from their flat six (80 more ponies)? I know it's just a toy engine not a Porsche piece! Don't get me wrong I love the car I just thought that Exige would be the GT4 car, Evora would be the GT3 and the next Esprit would be the GT2! now both Lotus Series are GT4 based and how much is an 260 Exige cup!? Not a 120,000!!!
  11. Could they stick it in the Evora! Please! I know I'm in the minority here but I can't stand shifting all the time in urban commuting! Or better make it an after market possibility so that my future Elise can take it!
  12. Let's be realistic even a top ten finish is going to be difficult at best in normal conditions, with 26 cars on the grid! If they could score a point it would make my season!

  14. Lotus Group shareholders are involved so I hope they'll get Lotus Cars involved too. The logical move would be to have Dany Bahar form a special team to lead the assault and get some mechanics, tech and engineers to transfer to the RTN factory! Or even Better Group Lotus should by the RTN factory! And the shakedown would take place at Hethel on the company track before a presentation in KL in front of Proton, petronas and the dignitaries of the Malaysian gov!

  16. Oh please no! No gullwing doors! I really like that front nose and would like nothing better than to see Lotus Cars go with this one on the S or SC variant of the car! It's an evora nobody wants to get decals or other stupid things on it! But the front nose and the rear side vents will make sense on the oommphed up model. Of course I want paddleshifters and more than anything else I want a superlight alcantara microfiber interior to get closer to these announced 2600 lbs or 1180 kg!!!! Which means bye bye to the back seats. This 124 doesn't have a blower and already delivers 394 bhp. I'd be curious to see which category Lotus Sport will choose to compete in, I hope GT3!
  17. Wow!!! Can't wait to see that on the track! I may go to the Nurb just to see it lap! Will this front nose make its way to the road car cause I like it more than what the road car has now!

He originally joined the team in May 2007, having previously shot to prominence as the right hand man to Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz. Bahar had little involvement with Ferrari's F1 team and his main role was to develop the Ferrari brand worldwide. Bahar is a marketing/pr guru not an engineer nor a finance geek. Would it mean that the shareholders are going to be pushing from a wider 'fan' base? Yes obviously! Would it mean that the company will go back to motor racing?
  19. MJK I hope you'll recover fully and have long years to enjoy your latest creation! That's a blow Lotus was finally doing better nd now that. Let's hope the new leadership will keep it on target! I do believe MJK should get a honorary role at the the company and should be kept on the board even if just as in a consultant role!

  22. Hey everyone I'd like your point of view on this. The story broke on Autosport as I think you all know. Litespeed may run under the Team Lotus name in F1 next year if their application is accepted. What do you think about that! Are you in favor or against it. Personaly I'm pissed. I want Lotus to go back to F1 but I want Lotus Cars Ltd to run the show not Hunt to give the possibility create to another 'Pacific'. here's the story from Autosport: source: Autosport.com
  23. I have to say that I'm seriously impressed. I did not imagine that it was possible to stick a stroller in that tiny trunk! Although considering that the Elise is a strict two seater it does mean that mum or dad will be left home alone as one parent will go with baby for the drive. The Elise, The ideal car for single parents! Or more realistically bad uncles!
