  1. Robin that literally mad me spill my coffee laughing! - Nice though James - it literally could be anything but could quite possibly be off the Air-Cannon - think you might need some proof though before sticking it on fleabay for a grand..........you mean there were no number plates down there? Barbara Bach's knickers at least!!
  2. Had a great Petrolheads day on Saturday - Got to play with some Aston's in the morning as one of my sons works there and it was the Bi-annual employee family open day - this was fantastic - Then the Midlands Italian car day in the afternoon at the Jag Classic works in my hometime Cov - great to see great Jags still being made here - though the Reborn's and Recreation's were light years better in terms of quality than anything that ever left Browns Lane! (Mr K will like these....................)
  3. You'll probably like the rest of them then - especially the Miura in the snow. Simon Kidston has some amazing stock and deals in some of the finest cars............as well as running the Villa D'este amongst others............... https://www.kidston.com/films/
  4. Award for most awesome Video of the Summer goes to .................................. https://kidston.com/films/1969-the-rivals/?fbclid=IwAR25vop6kgV04oTWXiyWa74y7wdfoSrhbyhVFHV7enkqYkA1KGqZ0qOlE7Y
  5. Not quite today but I hit the half century last month - Thanks to my sister.......................
  6. I like the revision - looks nice and Retro and reminds me of the great Lotus days. I suppose some would argue they should be looking forward with the Evija launch but its ok by me. I think the McLaren 'swoosh' thing is naff.............
  7. Nice one Bibs - great to hear - Newey just designed the Valkyrie - he has not had to engineer it!
  8. Although ACBC is not here - does Mr K approve............that's what I would like to know!
  9. A great move by Lotus IMO - There is a lack of awareness and significance of Lotus given the timespan for the current generation to recognise Lotus of old and the amazing history in F1. One of my sons works on future model for Aston Martin - he has been immersed in Lotus 'folklore' by me so naturally aware of the past given my Esprit has been with me for longer than he has. Reckons the word at AM is a nod of acknowledgment from a sleeping great. I've seen the posts about Chapman not approving due to weight etc. but I don't think Colin could ever had foreseen where the Car industry would be going and the sudden leap in to battery technology we are seeing. Yes the idea was there but until Tesla came along the thought of a battery vehicle to the 60's/70's generation was a Milk Float.............
  10. Looks fantastic - where was the launch held?
  11. Anyone else been following the latest 'goings'-on' with Haas and Rich Energy? Seems William Storey the drinks company CEO really is like David Thieme in more ways than one! https://twitter.com/rich_energy/status/1148994221686370304

    Happy.

Nice unusual colour -don't think I have seen that before in an early X180
  13. Was never a fan of those wheels especially in white...........................
  14. Yes the work on the slammed cars is amazing but the look is too far for me on those. The lower the more exotic but there is a limit
  15. Not knocking anything Mark - its your car and it still looks great mate. Bigger wheels always look superb especially with a lower ride (although there can be a limit for me!) And that colour is fantastic. There is also something so period and correct about velour interiors especially in chocolate/brown. I used to love it when they called it Tobacco - conjured up all sorts of images of wealthy magnates - suppose its not exactly PC now - keep going and best of luck with it!
  16. Great work - as per the others - my favourite colours but not sure on the dash and I would have kept the Speedlines - looking forward to seeing the final results!
  17. No it did not make the reserve Steve athough not too far off........... I'm still hoping the family decide to keep it so it can driven by them one day.
  18. LHD No.006 is also currently for sale in Austria - https://www.willhaben.at/iad/gebrauchtwagen/d/auto/lotus-esprit-turbo-esprit-essex-commemorative-edition-314943959/
  19. As per the Classic Team Lotus recent post on FB - Great to see the Belgravia Concours – the beautiful Turbo Lotus Esprit of Peter Boita won the ‘Most Original Car’ award, from a field of 200 cars. A really impressive achievement. The Belgravia Concours is a prestigious classic car event that is held annually in the lush five acre gardens of Belgrave Square in the heart of London. I thought I recognised the car with those white wheel and louvres - its the one featured in Jeremy Walton's Esprit Complete Story Book............ - just found my copy to check! Glad to see its still around and so very nice!
  20. Wonder it Roger kept that Jacket? .................a quick google - Mr K's! http://www.pressland.co.uk/jbunique.html
  21. Similar to the often seen press image but a slightly different angle shown on the 007 FB page.............. BTW did anyone else see the 2026 Winter Games are to be held in Milan/Cortina? I wonder if that means the FYEO Skating Rink will get a refurb?
  22. Found a couple of interesting ones on Twitter - Thieme's Cessna Citation 500 - and - I think we mentioned about this a while ago but this thread has been going so long I can;t remember! British GP and Brands 1980 - not quite Essex but this is the Red Arrows Display that (I think?) blew off the cover on the Essex hospitality bus............ and probably Mr Thieme's Panama Hat! - they would never get away with that now!
  23. Apart from the Condorman shot Mark gave us yonks ago in this thread where it appeared along with his Countach
  24. Steve this is what I have for LHD Essex cars - Dev. 0020298J Dev. SCCFC20A0AHH10299 Dev. SCCDC20A8AHH10300 No. SCCFC20A0AHH10301 002 SCCFC20A0AHH10302 007 SCCFC20A2AHH10303 004 SCCFC20A4AHH10304 005 SCCFC20A0AHH10305 006 SCC082910AHH10306 NA SCCFC20A0AHH10307 ??? SCCFA20AXAHJ50100 (039) SCC082910AHH10308 026 SCC082910BHH10326 029 SCC082910BHH10329 100 SCC082910CHH10386 I am still amazed that we have still not found or seen any images of Mr Thieme post 1981/2 imprisonment and subsequent release. All I aware of was that he has a place in Paris and possibly Monaco still............. Unless he really is Hugo Drax!
  25. Ahh - was it one of those Jim Loose cars? Roy if you look back to Page 6 on this thread you will some info about the LHD Essex cars registered to Essex Petroleum - Essex Motorsport took delivery of Export Essex's (LHD) numbers 002 and 007 - the latter believed to be Thiemes own personal car and still thought to be in his possession somewhere locked away in Paris - so that Essex is one of those two - Chassis SCCFC20A0AHH10302 (LHD - 002) or SCCFC20A0AHH10303 (LHD - 007).
