  1. Really? Really? I thought the Aventador look like a re-hashed version of the Revention a Murci with a body kit or otherwise - crap, Sorry my brother loved it at the GFOS but i thought it looked old and crap, at least 10 years old (sorry but it did and the body style was very used, they should have tried for a more dynamic future not a re-hash). of the whole event the only 2 cars looked good were the Esprit and he Mclaren MP4 12-c Way better than the lambo crap....Sory but a big fan of Lambo's but was expecting much more (not a Murci with sharper edges)
  2. Well you have a pretty much awesome collection already my friend. I had a 911 GT3 (Mk1) new in 99 and an awesome car it was but got the 340R in 2000 and a Audi S4 2001 and then the Sport 300 also in 2001 so felt the Porsche was a little too easy to live wit so sold it (for a £30K loss), great car though, will be a real classic and possibly the next 911 2.7RS
  3. As Hong Kong Phoey would say, could be? Potentially looking at selling due to personal reasons (it's a bit of as long story) , but it is an amazing car so very hard to let go.
  4. Hi Bibs I left you a few messages and an email, but you never replied, where's the love gone How's life with the Evora? Russ
  5. What about the Silver Esprit Turbo (or could have been an SE) in the Highwayman TV series which he kept in the back of his truck? Or was that quoted
  6. Pricey, maybe but to be honest the guide price of Octane and many other classic mags are usually way off real prices offered. I took a quick look at Jensen CV8 prices on the web which places them in the £20,000+ mark double what the guide says for example: as for Esprit Sport 300's recently sold: UK car now sold. and which in the thread, mentioned is now sold. so price reduced and sold for $80,000.00 AUD = £51,795.78 GBP I guess with anything really rare it's based on supply and demand, I did read in either Classic and Sports Car or Classic Cars that the next big mover in prices will be 80's and 90's mid engined supercars and had a picture of a GT3 Esprit which is a good news for all us owners
  7. Love it and the dudes replay is Epic and so true. funnily enough I also have a Jeep Cherokee XJ 1995 and it's fucking awesome, fantastic off road, makes mince meat of the snow and easy to fix (I have already rebuilt all of the flooring, brakes and otherparts and it just keeps on going, including towing a 911 Turbo (935 ) and trailer for about 500 miles and never missed a beat. I have 4 cars (did have 5) and the Jeep is the one I use everyday. Most likely because of its versitility and if you park it somewhere no one will touch it or damage it (that or after the amount of off roading I do, I guess I wont notice it. Great vehicles I would recomend them
  8. I kinda like like it and is probably the most exciting Ferrari since the F40 or 288 GTO (ok the F50 was pretty good but lacked progress from the F40). The Enzo did nothing for me and I really don't care about that car and would never bother to own one no matter how rich I got
  9. Yep and a V12 Boat anchour in the back, anyone whom has driven a XJ15 will tell you that it has crap handling due to the weight of the huge V12 Engine in the back a V6 Turbo is so much lighter and aids the XJ220 as having fantastic handling and a great Nberg Pace ande press praised handling way above anything that came before
  10. Any idea how many in total have made to date?
  11. Over £105,000 now and still climbing. Still worth much more in my eyes Good Luck and personally I hope you decide to keep it after all of the hard work that you have put into it, otherwise I hope that you get a great price for it. I'm quite tempted myself
  12. No, after Kenny convinces Satan to stand up to Saddam, Satan returns every thing back to normal before the war between Canda and the US, (including the Baldwins and arquettes) and then Kenny whom died before the War gets to get in to Heaven (not the Gay club, but the place in the sky).
  13. I would have thought the Elan (looking to be effectively a rebodied and re-engineed Evora) would also be developed in addition to the Elise replacement
  14. PM sent Bibs so hope you got it but as no reply please let me know if you need more info, thanks Russ
  15. Gravesend is pretty industrialised am sending PM now. Russ
  16. I might be around to help out if you like and can meet up in kent for Recce journey to Norfolkif you need some company and help, also please let me know if we need any more donations or man help, if so i'm in (sorry got to this thread late) Russ
  17. Ok Bibs count me in (need to Tax and MOT it, hasn't had much use lately due to the awful weather, but that shouldn't take long - about a week), and maybe Zymol the beast. Do you have any more details such as when and where. As you probably know, mine is Black , RHD mostly standard with a few enhancements, but in overal very good condition. Russ
  18. Count me in if you need a hand the the bodies to lift them etc, I also have an old Cherokee Jeep I use for off roading in Kent which recently did a sterling job of transport a Porsche 911 Turbo up to Sunderland and back if thats of any need? dont have a trailer but have the Vehicle. Let me know. Thanks Russ
  19. The Evora isn't dead but most likley will become the Elan with new bodyshell and engine with much more power (both are a 2+2 so same car differnet dress, all these cars will be using the VVa chassis so are all based on what should have been the Esprit and now the Evora, Personally gonna be keeping my Esprit Sport 300 but am seriously looking at the new Esprit (although is a little bit 458 in shape, thik I preferred the other designs) and the McLaren MP4-12C, also keeping the 340R as with the weight increase will will never see the likes of it again, even the 2-11 without windowscreen still weighs more and less of a road car. Still will be tuning into the webcast. bring it on and hope for the future, although the engines seem a little hopeful for just NA
  20. Love this car and far more interesting than say a Veyron. Always loved it form day one when launched in the V early eighties. Quite disapointed the seller hasn't got any phtos of the car right now but is using mostly stock 80's promo pictures (apart from the one at the end) or either the exact current config of the engine (power etc). Just think it is incredibly lazy that they haven't got a pro photographer in to work thier magic on its current state as I also believe that it needs re-conditioning for road use as has been in storage for a very long time. Geez for £1.3 million you would think they would make the effort instead of nicking shit off the internet on its spec and pics. Still have been playing the Lotto the last 2 times since noticing this in a classic mag just in case
  21. Could have been, I just heard the rumour awhile back (either this year or last) that someone obviously really loved thier Esprit S1 and was spending £60K on it to make ot good as new, was unaware if that was the final bill or the estimate, unless someone else is going that route. Is there any info on Jeff's car (with pics) as I would love to see the finished example. That's is the crazy thing with restorations "sometimes" they (more than often) end up costing more than the car will be worth when finished. As Quetin Wilson (of original Top Gear and fith Gear fame) once said "It is usually cheaper to buy a restored car than to attempt the cost of restoration yourself" for example: My Brother was given an old Elan S3 coupe (considerd the nicest looking Elan, that's apprently why Gordon Murray has one), it was in a terrible state and he has spent the last 4-5 years restoring it to immaculate original spec down to the smallest detail and has already spent way over £16,000 (no cost for the car) and still has to finish it and at the moment the cost of restoration is probably worth more than the car is if he was to sell it once completed. Lovely car though and will look great once finished. Funny thing is I also read a while back (classic mag) that a Masarati Birdcage came up for sale and was in original condition and went to auction and fetch more than it would have had it been restored (pretty sure it was the red one at this years festivak if speed) so sometimes originality counts far more than restored condition.
  22. Over the last year or so I have seen what would probably be mint to good go for between £20K - £30K, as somone else pointed out this car was advertised in a classic mag (think it could have been Octane or Classic and Sportscar for £20K so £10K in 1 less than a year is a prettygood profit. These are getting very collectable nowdays and there is one having a £60K restoration at Bell and Colvile at the moment (that's on top of whatever they paid for the base car). I remember just over 10 years ago these were going for about £3K - £7K and Ferrari Dinos were fectching acround £40K - £50K, now Dinos are around £100K plus. Also 911 2.7 RS were going for £65K now you can't find them under £130K+ Seems to me those that knew the stockmarket/ banks were going to go down have now invested in classics which have no depreciation (unlike new Porsches, Fezza's etc) and can only go up plus you can enjoy your investment. I know many people that have 2-3 classics (Lotus included, especially Elans, Elites) which are keeping them as thier pension plans, along side a couple of properties. Wise people me thinks.
  23. I believe the Black Sport 300 with White interior as seen in Octane ended up being bought by a lucky guy from Germany whom seems to be very much enjoying it and has posted the odd YUOTUBE clip (was also LHD so kinda makes sense). Also hear a lot of the Lotus 340R's sold in the last year or so are being snapped up by our European cousins, whom seem to can't get enough of them, which is a little sad as now many have left these shores and you are less likely to see one on the road (Especially considering the recent weather this summer). Probably less than 70 odd in the country now Thanks Bibs, had meant to check out the registry, Have you any pictures of the Azure Blue ones? Cheers Russ
  24. Nice Sport 300, I have pictures of a silver one (not sure if same car) and in those it looked a bit awkward but in these photos looks really nice (still prefer the Black, Yellow & Red ones although would love to see some S300 pics in Azure Blue - if they made any). Does loook very original apart from the Seats and centre console of which I prefer the look and definatley the feel from the Sport 300 race Buckets and alacanta (instead of the leather), of course the seats (and everything else like the sinroof) were always an option from Lotus. Still lovely car and would love to see it moving on the road or on a vid to appreciate the colour. If there is a lucky Australian out there looking for an awsome Lotus Supercar racer for the road and with $80,000 AU in his pockets I would definatley go for it they are great machines. Russ
