  1. The Lotus Test Track at Hethel was completely refurbished and updated in 2011 when it was opened by Nigel Mansell. The circuit is 2.2 miles long and with its run-off areas is situated in approximately 30 acres of the 50 acre Group Lotus site. Built to put Lotus’ high performance cars through their paces the circuit incorporates a series of bends, hairpin corners and straights providing an excellent venue for honing driving skills. For the vast majority of the last 16 years Lotus on Track have been the only club/tdo running track days at Hethel, ensuring Lotus owners can still drive their own cars where they were built. Price includes light breakfast and snack lunch with coffee all day General circuit information: HERE Noise limit: 105db static & 95db drive by 20m Noise Limits Static test – A noise meter is placed at a 45 degree angle to the exhaust outlet and 50cm away. The car is then held at 3/4 of its maximum rev limit and the highest reading recorded is the cars recorded noise output for the day. A static limit of 105db is very high and very few cars have an issue with this. At 98db cars with a cat, std factory manifolds and exhausts will generally be ok. Anyone with a very loud exhaust/manifold should be careful. Drive by – This test is recorded at track side as the car is moving at track speed. Depending on the circuit the reading will be taken between right next to the track and up to 20 meters away. Cars with forced induction tend to have more issues with drive by, even though they tend to pass static tests as the s/c or turbo’s only kick in when run at speed. There are many things that affect drive by readings from wind direction, air temperature, how low the cloud cover is or even what line you are driving. Close Format: Open Pit Lane Format A sessioned event means that the day will be structured into usually 3 separate groups which take it in turns to go out on track for a set time, normally 20 minutes. Each car will be restricted to their group for the duration of the day. Drivers are generally allocated a group depending on their experience level or type of car. An Open Pit Lane event means that cars are free to go out onto the track when they choose (providing the circuit limit or our normally reduced limit has not been reached). 4. We’ve run an evening at Donington Park for the last 6 or 7 years. Donington offers the best value evening track day in the UK as track time runs from 17.30-20.30 – 3 hours. We’re sharing the day with the circuit owner MSV. Lotus on Track will start the evening with a 30 minute session that includes the sighting laps, MSV will then run their own 30 minute session before LoT have a 20 minute session which will alternate with MSV. If all goes to plan LoT members will drive: 17.30-18.00, 18.30-18.50, 19.10-19.30, 19.50-20.10 – so one and a half hours of track time! Probably more than you’d use if open pit lane. 5. The circuit is one of the truly great circuits in Europe with a mix of fast and slow corners and with one of the most famous sections in the world, the Craner Curves. After our hugely successful days at Donington the last couple of summers we’ve taken another exclusive session on a day with MSV – the circuit owner. 13. A return to our regular March day at the home of British Motorsport. Running from the heritage pits we’re using the full 3.66 mile Grand Prix circuit. This day, on the full GP circuit will be run in Open pit lane format operating from the Heritage Paddock. Strictly Lotus on Track club members only. General circuit information: HERE Noise limit: 105db static & 102db drive by Noise Limits Static test – A noise meter is placed at a 45 degree angle to the exhaust outlet and 50cm away. 14. Arguably the most fun you can have at a ‘proper’ race circuit with your pants on! Ledenon is an anti-clockwise circuit providing a roller-coaster ride with steep crests and descents and a superb variety of swooping corners. Situated just a few miles from the ancient Roman towns of Nimes, Ales and Orange while the Pont du Gard is a few minutes away there really couldn’t be a circuit placed better to take a few days to relax and sight see. Open Pit Lane – what else would you want! The post Ledenon | Friday 19 August 2022 appeared first on Lotus on Track. View full event details here
  15. COMING SOON Zandvoort – Nestled in the sand dunes just a stones throw from the beach and a short drive from Amsterdam this famous circuit is arguably one of the best in Europe. In an Elise it’s up there with Spa. Formula One returned in 2021, the same year LoT visited Zandvoort for the 15th consecutive year, running 3 great days. Spa Francorchamps – Our final day of 2022 in Belgium. If this day’s anything like the previous 9 November days in Spa we’re in for a treat – the last 5 years in particular were great, dry, sunny days – not a single red flag on the November 2021 day as example. Close Experience level: No beginners please Experience Levels All levels: Everyone Beginner: 1st ever track day Novice: 1-5 track days without a major circuit Intermediate: 5+ track days including a major circuit Advanced: Attended a number of open pit lane days at a range of circuits Close Important participant & vehicle information: Please read Participant & Vehicle Information Clothing must fully cover arms & legs. 24. Nestled in the sand dunes just a stones throw from the beach and a short drive from Amsterdam this famous circuit is arguably one of the best in Europe. In an Elise it’s up there with the best – Spa, Dijon, Brands GP. In 2021 Zandvoort welcomed back the Dutch F1 Grand Prix. This day takes place just after GT World Challenge visits the circuit. Perfect for a long weekend in Amsterdam, Haarlam or just staying in the great seaside resort of Zandvoort. Just a couple of hours from the EuroTunnel at Calais or a short drive from the Hook of Holland for those who fancy a longer crossing from the East of England. 25. We’re returning to the wonderful Bilster Berg after our 4 fantastic visits in 2016/17/19/20. As with the last couple of years we’ve been able to organise a Saturday evening that will hopefully allow members to either do the day as a one off or double up with our main Spa date on the following Monday. Note: This event is being run on Saturday afternoon/evening: 2pm-6pm – so 4 hours of open pit lane track time against an average of 7hrs on most days. Modelled on the likes of the Ascari Resort in Spain, the entire circuit has been designed from scratch by Hermann Tilke, the industry’s most experienced circuit architect. He is best known for renowned F1 circuits such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Malaysia, Istanbul, Shanghai and has now turned his hand to creating a New Nürburgring, “The natural ‘Nordschleife flair’ with high safety standards will continue to enthuse every driver. With various ideal lines, the corners allow for approximately identical lap times, while nature itself dictates the unmistakable signature of the test track.” It is not only the very special scenic-park-like ambiance which makes Bilster Berg so unique. The 4.2 kilometres long track has 19 bends, 44 crests and dips, more than 200 meters change in altitude and declines up to 26%. It truly is one of the great circuits in Europe. http://www.bilster-berg.de/ Video – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llXQ-CUcn-Y General circuit information: HERE Noise limit: 101db static & 98db drive by * Noise Limits Static test – A noise meter is placed at a 45 degree angle to the exhaust outlet and 50cm away. Close Crash Helmet: Not available due to C19 Due to the nature of the day we can’t accept anyone who holds a current race license. * road legal Lotus & Caterhams with cat should have no issue with noise. The circuit operate a transponder system to identify cars – we have discussed noise at the end of all 3 previous days and there were no concerns over our return. However, we will keep the number of cars low & control their type. Noise operates on a bucket system – so less cars means less noise – similar to Zandvoort. Covid 19 – we have put in place some additional measures click here. Although some of these rules may be reduced by this event it is important that you expect that they will still be in place.
