KennyN
Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for the pictures, they're "borrowed" from the Wonston Arms social media feed. Hopefully we managed to tempt Steve out of his Mazda 😁

Simon Gooding
Well, that was an interesting trip home, hit a big pothole, completely blew out front tyre, damaged Alloy but luckily Dean was on hand to help out! KennyN
I'm glad to hear that you and Tommy are okay. Hopefully the council will quickly refund the cost of the wheel, tyre and alignment.
peteyg
Oh no!! Hopefully no other damage to the rest of the car? You'd have been fine if your Lotus was wearing some nice 70 profile rubber... Pete Pete '79 S2 LEW Miss September 2009

Simon Gooding
Tommy was a bit shaken! Did make a Big Bang when it happened but it was really nice that Dean was with us! Other than tyre and wheel in obvious bodywork damage, but will get Snows to check suspension etc!
Techyd
Glad you got back safely - albeit pretty darn late. I have to say it was pretty scary to watch, really thought for a moment that was going to go a lot worse than it did - you did really well to recover / catch it 👍 -------------------------------------------------------------- And for next months meet, we landed on trying out "The Red Shoe Inn" in Exton / Corhampton on Tuesday 20th August. Simon Gooding
The general feeling from the recovery team and at Snows was it was the car that saved us!! Anything other than forged Alloy wheels would have broken up and we would have had no control, as it was, the tyre took the hit and the alloy whilst scuffed, held its shape and allowed me to continue to steer. In the words of Mr Bond, I'm shaken but no stirred!

Really sorry to hear about this Simon, hope it all gets sorted soon for you!

Seem like a bunch of really nice chaps and hope to see you at the next one. Secondly, gutted to hear of your misfortune Simon. Glad to hear you're unscathed and the gorgeous bodywork remains undamaged, hopefully a new wheel & tyre will see you right.

Good luck claiming off the Council - round here if they've painted a white line round it that seems to exempt them from any liability whatsoever...
