Exhaust cam housing removal

Recommended Posts

Can anyone advise what suitable magnets are used by others as per the service notes or are there any other succesful methods employed to stop the followers falling when the housing is removed.  Thanks

Never bothered , I just turn housing through 90 degrees as I lift it away.   Use a syringe with a small tube extension to suck cam housings dry prior to removal to avoid mess.

I just used 8mm x 3mm cylindrical neodymium magnets, one per tappet, as I had them on hand. The bar type would be easier to manage, as the little round guys are harder to fish out after.

Don't know if these will show up on UK Ebay or not, lower priced 50mm bars -
