Sorry I was a bit late seeing this tread but yeah £70k plus fees so the buyer probably ended up paying around £75k in total

Cool I’m glad to hear that, the buyer is a really cool guy who as you said will use the car as intended, he also has a caterham 620r It was a real pleasure to deal him actually. A friend of mine has loaded up the Lotus this evening to deliver it to the buyer tomorrow morning.

I think that is extremely cheap for that car but I needed to sell it as we are moving house and I need the extra money to throw into it now, £70k now is more necessary to me at the moment than £80k in a few months time. Once we move into the new house I’ll start saving for another Lotus 🤑😂

Given there have been 430 Cup cars advertised at around £100k recently I think the buyer got a bit of a bargain! Bit of a shame for you but such is life I guess

Yup, utter bargain for those in the know.

The guy who’s bought it as Mitch says is a lovely chap. 

A 430 for £75k was either catching the market sleeping or an early correction to the entire car market.. Theres a few deals out there! 

In any case the buyer like me thinks life is for enjoying and cars are for driving.

Hi forumistas,

I've got my eye on a 2018 350 with over 24k miles on the clock. I haven't seen any with this many miles on so it's difficult to benchmark the £50k asking price. 

What sort of issues and common wear items should I look out for, or be prepared to repair/replace in the near future?

If serviced correctly, no issues should arise beyond usual consumables. 

If tracked, it could be another story but as a road car, especially if garaged all it's life, I'd have no concerns.

Thanks Justin. The dealer has said the ECU shows no signs of tracking or hard launches. 

What sort of mileage does a clutch manage on a stock 350?

Obviously, it depends how you drive it, the previous owner drove it.

On a 350 you should get 40-80k mikes.

Not a known issue on Exige, it should do plenty of miles. My Evora did 62,000 on it's original clutch and early Evora had a reputation for clutch problems. Cured by MY2012. 

You'd be unlucky to replace a clutch on Exige in normal road use at lowish mileage but perhaps ask a few specialists for their view. Steve Williams, Hangar111, etc.....

They’re robust. Check the underside (have it lifted) and consumables… I’d personally be looking at the brakes and suspension for wear and the likelihood of needing to be replaced soon after purchase rather than the clutch which should as others have said be good.. in theory it isn’t even at its half life.

Is is possible to find out if it was a town car? If it’s a town car the clutch could need replacement but if it’s outside I doubt it. 
 

Definitely check the disks and service history for anomalies.

350 is a great car 👍🏽

Sold my car recently, it had <4k miles and more than £10k of choice upgrades (no engine/powertrain mods), for not much more. 
 

Personally, I think £50k sounds like toppy money for the mileage, and I’d be tempted to wait for something else. 
 

that said, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a car with 24k miles for the right price.

Where did you sell it? I haven't seen anything on the market for less than £60k for a while.

Dealer says it was a daily commuter for a Surrey high-flyer and the readouts (unseen by me as yet) confirm it wasn't ragged.

@SW_Mike mine was advertised on Pistonheads and I had mentioned it on the S3 Exige FaceBook group… but admittedly it was up for £60k !  The various bits on the car could have been stripped off to recoup £10k easy. 
 

Sold within 2 days so I guess it must have been too cheap!!
