Evening all,

New to the forum, first post and have been doing some research on the forums.

I'm very close to hopefully getting figures confirmed on a used Exige 350.  The car in question I notice has grooved front discs and drilled on the rears.  All normal photos I've seen of the cars show drilled discs all round.  The dealer tells me these are an option on the Race Pack.

I can't see any reference to this option, is this "dealer creation talk" (fibbing!) and therefore the car has had replacement discs on the front or are you aware of these being a spec'd option?

There isn’t a race pack on the 350 but sounds like the 2 piece brake upgrade which my old 350 had.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes ok makes sense.  

I also thought that from 2015/16 onwards the gear linkage was exposed, but this is covered.  Could that be spec'd to be covered?  I've seen some posts to suggest some owners have removed the covering.  Really I'm testing questioning that the car is the correct spec and model for the year!

If gear linkage is not exposed then it’s not a 350

Two-piece brake upgrade would have matching discs all-round (drilled). I'd suggest it's had the fronts replaced.

Gearshift suggests it's an S rather than a 350.

I agree with Alastair, a link would be handy.

It’s a V6S with club racer spec.

For that money you can get a 350 so I’d avoid it personally as the 350 has a lot of upgrades. The gear change is massively better as well.

i sold my 2017 350 as pictured above with 12k miles for £44k!

Matt I’d say that’s a little pricey for a Club Racer with 15,000 miles. As Alistair says you’ll likely get a Sport 350 with less miles, for less money. And you won’t have to stare at that horrible plastic shroud around the gearstick.....they’re hideous....sorry! But if this is car you’re after, then all the very best👍 What about the yellow 350 Sport at Williams.....20,000 miles but if that could be bought for £40k it would be a good deal. There’s also what I think is Johnny’s old V6 Cup? I’ll bet that’s a good buy👍

Yep too expensive as said , for the same money you can get a 350 and save a lot of weight too!

V6’s standard 1,176kg but 350 is 1,125. I guess Club Race spec might knock off a few kg but doubtful it would save 50kg.

There will be others in the coming months Matt (sadly) that much you can almost guarantee - if it was me I’d be waiting as you’ll likely get a 350 around £45k with lower miles👍

Don't know the car but the dealer is relatively new in Camberley and has only been at the location for about 6 months. They've certainly got some top end cars in there but, without any real reason. I've always wondered when it's going to shut down. 

It's about 20 mins from me so if you're interested in the car I could always pop over and have a look for you?

@SSingh Long story so I won't go into detail now but I know a bit of history behind the car. I had chance to buy it before it went into the dealership that sold it last year, at significantly less than its been sold for now. I passed on it, despite really wanting a red one at the time. The car wasn't serviced for 3 years and around 8k miles (not even an oil change) and in that time it did several trackdays. It also needed a fair amount of tlc, much of which may well have since been addressed but imo there are much better cars out there for the money..

appreciate the response @Nathan, Sytner said they wouldn't sell the car without it having had its 4th year C service complete along with the supercharger belt and bearing on it and Lotus Silverstone said they would do a comprehensive used car check so i'd not buy until i get the thumbs up from Lotus on that. I've heard they purchased the car for 37k.

If you think there's better out there then i might swerve it (it's just the colour is so sweet on it haha!), i just thought 6months warranty from Sytner, a thumbs up from Lotus Silverstone + a brand new MOT and Full Service C + bits (£1000+)?

Relatively new to Lotus so not sure how sensitive these things can be when not serviced...do you think its still a no with all that thrown into the sale?

I was offered it for less than that but then I'm very fussy (but then so are most Lotus owners!) I wasnt prepared to buy something with such a hole in the history as it suggests the car hasn't been cared for as £40k Lotus should (and the condition at the time suggested the same).

I think it's fair to say Lotus owners overall are more fastidious about upkeep than owners of other marques, so most cars tend to be very well looked after, so the expectation is similar when buying (hence patchy servicing is probably a bigger deal than for other cars).

I ended up buying a much much nicer car in immaculate condition and with an impeccable service history for a lot less money than the red one is for sale for now, so personally I'd move on and find a better one.

When I viewed the car it had the standard exhaust but I'm pretty sure the last owner mentioned on the V6 Facebook group that he'd fitted a valved 2bular?
