I'm going for a sports racer wrap - do I do the sills in matt black or gloss black?

Not sure what colour your car is, but I def prefer the matt look against the red. I plasti-dipped mine myself to make sure I liked it (I like the red roof). If I ever remove the sills and splitter to have them wrapped, I'll definitely pick a matt finish like the dip. Not sure a matt roof would look great though.

Good stuff. Personally I'm not much of a fan of 'fake' carbon fiber. Also not so keen on blacking out the bonnet hatch, but everyone is different. Best of luck with the chat with the wrap shop mate, let us know how you go.

It’s worth having a look when you get there at carbon fibre but the Matt black is nice too.

do you have barge boards as this was a little pain for them to apply around the sills

the fromt splitter the guys recommended it and they were right to suggest it.

they also said the alloys need to be black and paint the callipers

got a price of £55 per alloy ? Anyone any decent alloy specialist maybe I need to post separate topic for this ?

Oooh they managed to put the cut out slits in the roof! Didn’t notice that on the first pic. Is that a like glossy carbon wrap on the roof? That’s looks really nice, might have to copy you.

I have barge boards but have not fitted them yet as thought it might make fitting the wrap harder.

Hmm gonna give them a call tomorrow and ask to keep some carbon wrap in stock for me to take a look at on Friday when it’s my turn! 😁

Yes the carbon fibre is a glossy finish in today sunlight it did look nice but I failed to get a picture sorry and I am supposed to be photographer ! Dam

yes maybe good idea to leave barge boards until after as this will make much more secure to apply vinyl but I couldn’t avoid this 😗

no worries about copying you might improve and that’s what it all about and I am very pleased with my outcome mind you it did cost an extra £75 in the end but it was worth it ! 👍🏻

My mates all work at Mercedes they said they’ve able to sort my alloys out but I will leave that for a few months to save up as I am going to need couple of tyres and brake discs and pads which more important

Looks great!  Don't suppose you have a close up of the carbon effect wrap? thanks.

Forgot to say the prices we got quoted were VAT excluded so when I paid the VAT was added which bumped it up I didn’t  realise when I first asked last week

Thanks for the close up.  That looks like a very realistic carbon effect wrap.  I've seen some very dodgy looking ones but that, on the photo at least, looks pretty good.   I'm normally not a fan of carbon effect stuff, mainly because it just looks a bit crap but that's got me thinking.

Yep from the very little I know about wrapping I think the temperature is a concern when applying wrap but once its on and stuck down properly it should be fine.  The place I'm going to have a heated bay where they do the work so I think it should be OK.

This is the place I've been recommended : http://www.signsuk.co.uk  They do the wrapping work Lotus Silverstone and all have the templates etc so I think they should do a good job.

Website link is above located in Hinckley Leicestershire so need to consider travel time and they take 3-4 hours so waiting around ? There’s a Morrison across the way with a cafe ?

Howdy all, Im back from getting my car wrapped, I went for gloss on the roof and matt on the sills.   I took a look at carbon wrap that Clive used and it was very good quality and looked very realistic.  But decided to stay closer to the standard Sport Racer look.

The guys at Signs and Graphics UK were great, really friendly and knowledgeable and great quality work, I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to get any sort of wrap done.

The car is absolutely filthy with all the salt on the roads at the moment but luckily doesn't show up too well on the photos, just makes the colour look a bit duller than normal.  I like the matt black on the sills as it makes the cut outs in the sills deeper and the gloss black on the roof is a pretty much exact match for the a pillars and the sail panel.
