Hi Paul,

Funnily enough - just had mine repaired as part of the restoration by SJ Sportscars - Satin black.

Bear in mind that over years of weather and polish - they can appear a little 'shinier' - if that makes sense?

Thanks Iain, yes having another look it appears to be satin black but I have never been quite sure what to clean and polish it with,if you wipe a cloth over it some of the black comes off! Anyone else have this problem? How do other owners maintain it?

Paul.

I've always just used soapy water and a rinse - no wax...

However - it was a bit rough - with lots of cracks...

Will see how I get on now she's repaired...

Hi Paul

Mine is Satin Black as well. I use Armor All, & apply it with a soft sponge. Brings it up real nice. The black never appeared to be rubbing off. But they do seam to attrack a lot of dirt.

mine have faded and need paining back up again, im going to go for a high glass gloss black with about 8 layers of high gloss laquer on top followed by some finish sanding, compounding and various stages of polishing :)

Polish it. The first time you do it, it looks total crap and you think that the smears will never come out, but keep at it and polish it 3 or 4 times, then the affect will show. this seems to "seal" the paint and stop it fading. Works for me. :)
