I would e-mail Jamie at Bell and Colvill to see if he has anything coming in via p/ex or knows of something that may not be advertised. I bought mine from Jamie, 50,000 miles, original clutch. All well one year on and 8000 miles. A few minor issues that B&C fixed free of charge. £30K should get you a 09, 10 or perhaps 11 plate. Two late cars, 2015 plates, have just sold for early to mid-£40k's.

205 Rallye: legend and I am sure great fun.

Alright thanks for the tip Justin, I'll drop him an email today!

The 205 was cracking fun, don't own it anymore, someone wanted it for silly money so let it go. Glad I did it, won't see one of those ever again I bet. Got more attention that you'd believe! Think Chris Harris owning one did values the world of good :D

If you want a 'sleeper' modern equivalent, try a Twingo 133. Brilliant and much like an 80's hot hatch. Cheap and easily tuneable to 160bhp.

You will love the Evora and 276bhp is plenty, though obviously 345/400 and beyond is wonderful too.

Ha nah I like them loud and with stickers on preferably! Rallye and Abarth 500 Esseesse were a good laugh, took the abarth round the Nurburgring, not a bad little thing, such a fun car :)

Done with hot hatches now for a while though, want something a bit more serious :)

Chris

just couple little tips on your buying journey ?

maje sure if you haven’t already got all the search on save eg autotrader piston heads etc

as Justin suggested call the dealers on regular basis I was very lucky when I called Snows the car was just taken in as part ex

I had to buy from 200miles away but that’s how it had to be if I wanted to secure a car that ticked some of choices not all but some ! I guess if I wanted all the ticks I could be still searching now ? Clive

Cheers for the tips Clive

I've got pistonheads and autotrader set up for Evora + Exige, nice to keep up with what's going on

Good tip about hitting up the garages, I'll do this

Unfortunately Jamie at B&C and Connor at Central haven't got anything in the pipeline currently but worth a chase every other month or so like you say :)

Ta!

Yep spread your net wide as jut increases the chances of picking up an Evora

I must admit as a comparison to this time last year I am sure there’s a definite drop in the numbers available ? Not what you what to hear but that’s reality sorry

i personally would not go to eBay as there’s been so many scams or fake adverts but I guess you need to keep all the options open

maybe as spring weather starts to kick in a few more sellers might pop up ? I wonder if the last 12 months a number of cars have gone abroad because of B word ?

I bought mine from a Facebook advert last year. It had done low mileage, great history but there was a bit of prep on seat bolster, couple of wheel refurbs and a couple of tyres needed doing. Price reflected this. If your anything like the rest of us Lotus nuts I’m sure you will be looking everywhere. Good luck on you search.

Fair enough but 133 is loud when KTR exhaust fitted; and could have option Renault Sport stickers from new. And it revs its nuts off to 7200.

Justin, what do you think these these would  be like as a track car..  had a stripped out 172 that was great fun..  these can be had for 2-3k any week points? have thought about a clio 197-200 but been advised about the chocolate gearbox on those

How to veer off-topic, sorry everyone! I have a Clio 200 as a day to day for the other half. Yes, boxes can be weak on Clio but KTR in Blandford say this is usually through poor gear-changing; and there is no consistent pattern to why Clio boxes mash syncro's, so is it driving style? I don't track the 200 or the Twingo but plenty do track Twingo. Mine has done 62,000 miles and as it is upgraded to 160bhp, I find it hard to believe it was not tracked before I got it. Gearbox seems fine on mine, strong and neat. Perhaps a standard one may be a bit slow for track use but with 160, I would think great fun. There is a dedicated forum for 133 so check that out. And speak to KTR, who really know Renaults. I bought both mine from them. 160 upgrade is £2K but worth it. Luckily, mine was already done. Perhaps you can chip more cheaply, I have not researched as I bought as is.

Long and the short is, Twingo 133 are seriously under-rated.

Hey

I have a launch edition 2+2 with premium pack, tech pack and sports pack.

In Aqua marine - so kind of blue green.

I am third owner but have had it for nearly 8 years.

Currently trying to convince myself that I do not need an Evora 400 as a birthday present for myself lol

it has just under 40,000 miles on it
