Gold FFM Sparky Posted November 7, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted November 7, 2020 Good luck Mike, I really hope it works out for you. Been trying to do this for a couple of years, but the temptation is always too great. If you manage it, please give me some clues... mike_sekinger
Moulds for the genuine GT1 bodykit are now produced and the first part has been taken. In the past, some folks expressed interest in the arch kits. If anyone is still interested in getting a set, please PM me and I will create a list and get some pricing. The parts would by default be in GRP. In carbon would of course be at extra cost. Thanks, Mike S 1 Quote 1996 Esprit V8, 1998 Esprit V8 GT, 1999 Esprit S350 #002 (Esprit GT1 replica project), 1996 Esprit V8 GT1 (chassis 114-001), 1992 Lotus Omega (927E), 1999 Esprit V8SE, 1999 Esprit S350 #032, 1995 Esprit S4s, 1999 Esprit V8 GT (ex-5th Gear project), 1999 Esprit V8SE ('02 rear) 1999 S350 #002 Esprit GT1 replica

alanlambert
Mike. Excellent progress. Could i ask how do you get the air out of the top of the two rads, I cant see any bleed valve at the highest point?
mike_sekinger
Hi Alan, There is a top bleed on the main coolant rad. The chargecooler rad is a twin-pass feeding from the bottom, but there is no other bleed on that unit. alanlambert
Ahh didnt see it, but you will also need a vent on the top of the chargecooler to get the air out from above the top hose connection or move that connection to the very top of the rad. As it is air above the top hose connector cannot get out and the rad will only be effective with the bottom 2/3 where the water flows. Ive been through these issues on my installation 🙄

As many of you know, Andrä purchased a previous Sport350 project car of mine and turned it into a hill climb racecar. Although we are on an Esprit GT1 journey together, Andrä is very much the driving force behind this current work.
