If you freescan log is not too big why not post it as an attachement and let the combined brains of LEW take a look. Dermot is in S Korea at the mo, but if no one else casn make sense of it I am sure he could upon his return.

no the check engine light is not on. jp

Did you reset the ecm? Pull the negative battery cable for a few minutes then reconnect it. Then try it out. Have you done a compression check on the engine?

Is there anything else minor that you have forgotten to mention? Was the car parked outside, was it wet? Had you just cleaned it? It is after you've left it standing or does it happen when it's warm (hot start)? Have you got A/C, was this on?

We need as much info as possible as it could be anything, fuel pump, vacuum hoses split, vaccum pump, various sensors, cat falling apart and blocking from time to time etc etc.

Injectors 1&4 are (electrically) connected in parallel as are 2&3. So if cylinder 1 and 4 are not getting fuel it looks like a wiring problem or a faulty driver circuit in the ECM. Check if the injectors are getting a signal. I saw Artie mentioning a tester in one of the other posts here.

thanks alot I got hold of Artie, the tester I needed was a Noid tester yes (Noid) I got it at Napa auto parts for $18.00 us. Turns out I am not get the signal for the injectors 1 &4 to open. Looks like I have a short or bad ECM. Anyhow it now going to the local Lotus dealer only about 30 miles away. Most likely lots of money but they claim it will be done 2 days, they overnight all their parts from Lotus. thanks jim

Cool, went to high school in ST. Charles. I'm not sure why it would do that unless the resistance is too high when both are plugged in. Maybe one of the injectors is faulty. Try switching around injector 2 or 3 with one then plug 1 and 4 in to see if the two of them fire. If that's the case, I have a set of stock injectors I'm not using.

Now the low coolant light will not go out. Now I had to discontect the hoses to the chargecooler and I did add coolant to that system. question does the low coolant light come on when either system is low ( radiator or chargecooler ) ? thanks jp
