ESPRIT X180 – SUPERB CONDITION, HUGE HISTORY PORTFOLIO, CONCOURS CONTENDER? - - Latest Ads - The Lotus Forums #ForTheOwners Jump to content

Recommended Posts

One of the very last normally aspirated Esprits presented in a simply superb condition – a genuine concours contender. The black paintwork is nearly unmarked and the interior has recently been subject to a beautiful re-trim, with an invoice in excess of £4000 on file.

The current owner purchased the vehicle seventeen years ago, in 2002, and has bestowed a huge amount of care upon it, keeping it in a tip-top condition, as evidenced by the huge history portfolio containing every receipt and MOT certificate dating back to 1997.

The service history is outstanding, as follows…

April 1994    A Service    4957 miles    Mike Rawlings, Truro
September 2005    C Service    7665 miles    Mike Rawlings, Truro
March 1998    A Service    9570 miles    Castle Motors, Liskeard
February 2001    A Service + Belt    13422 miles    Chris Foulds Lotus Specialist
February 2002    Pre sales service    15845 miles    Paul Matty Sportscars
August 2003    A Service + Belt    20296 miles    Kelvedon Motors
September 2004    B Service    24190 miles    Paul Matty Sportscars
October 2005    A Service    27933 miles    GST Performance
February 2007    C Service inc Bel   t 31113 miles    GST Performance
April 2008    A Service    34662 miles    GST Performance
May 2009    B Service    37398 miles    GST Performance

Gerald Turner of GST Performance in Newmarket is, of course, a Lotus expert of many years standing. Such is the clamour for Gerald’s work that he very rarely takes on new customers these days. He has said, however, that he would be delighted to continue the relationship with this car and its next owner. Every MOT certificate since 1997 is present, along with the Owners Pack, two keys and alarm fobs. I have undertaken an HPI check with no adverse information recorded, a copy of which is now on the cars’ file. Current recorded mileage is 55700 and the MOT certificate is valid until August 2019.

The only deviation from standard is the fitment of the slightly wider (and very rare) SE rear wheels with 245/45-16 tyres. All four tyres are as-new Toyo Proxes T1R’s and all four wheels are in an unmarked condition. The vehicle is fitted with a Category One compliant Laserline alarm/immobiliser in a fully functioning condition. This Esprit is so original that it still has its’ first windscreen, complete with running in instructions! As previously mentioned the interior trim has been completely refreshed with the seats, doors and headlining receiving full attention and all of the carpets, in black with magnolia piping, being replaced too. There is a modern Pioneer radio/CD but the original JVC unit will be supplied, along with a small supply of hard-to-find spare parts.

So, in conclusion, I really do not believe you will find a better example of this make and model. I would welcome any inspection and please do leave time to study the paper portfolio as well. Feel free to call 07718 385168 or 01379 677177 at any time to discuss the vehicle further and to arrange a viewing – evenings and weekends never a problem.

Collection from Diss railway station (90 minutes from London Liverpool Street) always a pleasure. Nationwide delivery available at modest extra cost.

Many thanks for looking!
