Hi Eddie,

Welcome to the forum.

Just a thought, and I am not going to bid on this by the way, but I think it a little unfair to thank others for not bidding. I am sure many of us on this forum have bid against each other for parts on ebay before, that is what an auction is about and everyone wants a bargain. If everyone asked this and respected it, the first person to see anything on ebay would be the winner. Just my view, and no offence meant at all - sorry, having a bad day. It is a nice looking keyfob by the way.

Russell.

I bought one of those a few years back. Quite nice too. Don't worry about being outbid - he's got 100's of the buggers.

cheers russell. hope your day improves, i've had a few of those recently.... my intention was not stop anyone from bidding. I can (this morning) completely see your point (I am suffering extreme insomnia as i am collecting my first esprit in 1 1/2 days and am so excited i can not sleep........) :smoke: and it was in the early hours whilst browsing i found the ebay thread. I always expect to be outbid at the last second..... thats what happens most of the time....

I've had 4 of them, very nice looks, they do have problems though.

The msall threaded bar that allows the fob to swivel unscrews very easily, just by use, it may be worth putting some thread lock adhesive o it at the start. That way you don't lose them (as I have lost one that way).

Also , the painted Lotus design comes off, possibly get some 10mm or so resin badges and stick over the top.

Still a nice item.

I used to laugh at a work mate who had a photo of his prized Mk1 Escort on it's keyring.

My dad's car keys always have the tag from the last service with its reg number written on.

Car security masterclass!

:smoke:

Now the Lotus esprit is a very rare car, not like a BMW, Vauxhall, Ford, VW, Peugeot etc, etc...

If you are unlucky enough to lose/drop your keys when you are out, or have them stolen or picked.

There won't be that many Lotus esprits for the thief to try, drop them in a carpark and i'll bet there's

only one lotus in it. I'm VERY, VERY happy with my nondescript GM carkeys and no fob - could be anything.

IMO a badged keyring for a very rare and desirable car, is just about

the worst car security item you could buy for such a small outlay.

Actually had forgotten about that aspect, that is probably why I didn't bother screwing the fobs back on for the twentieth or whatever time when the fell off.

Re unidentifieable keyrings, my alarm system is one that was made for Hyundai, and comes with badged remote for that brand of car. Now who'd go looking for a Lotus if they found that set of keys?

hadn't thought of that.............

Think i will create a new game.....

buy ferrari, lotus, bugatti key fobs etc.

attach an old key and drop it outside the front of a supermarket

then see how many you can catch on camera before they give up and hand them in....... if they do
