Which jack?

Sorry, basic question. What is a good jack with enough reach to get to the central jacking point under each door?

My car has the 380 side skirts as well.

This looks promising in terms of reach:

I have that one, works fine, reach no issue with extended sills.

Only trouble is it weighs a ton, to the point the delivery driver said he couldn’t carry it to the doorstep. I boldly stroll over and grab it, and can’t admit that he probably had a point until I get in hoping my grip holds!

I have that and a lightweight aluminium one, which gets used more for quick jobs.

I have: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-ctj2500qlg-2-5-tonne-aluminium-garage-j/

But it’s probably about 10 years old. The SGS one you linked to has greater reach, and is better, just heavy. It’s also solid as a rock

I asked this question not too long ago. I ended up going for a Sealy 2 tonne jack.

https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637173234/trolley-jack-2tonne-low-entry-rocket-lift-hi-vis-green

rocket lift, very heavy, but very stable. Have known aluminium ones to twist especially when used on slight slopes like my drive. Also same color(ish) as my car. 74mm closed height and fits easily under the car.

cheers

Haha looks like having two jacks is quite common...

I have the 3 Ton Low Profile Garage Trolley Jack (the one in your link) its excellent but as said all ready its fricking HEAVY!!!!! Even pulling it around can be a work out depending on your floor surface.

So I also bought one of the Sealey light weight ones from their 'Racing Jacks' range which I take with me to track and is pretty good. Although I did have a slight twisting issue last week as mentioned by Mark.
