NedaSay 849
Very nice video, and is that another prototype i don't know if it is the same as last year as a few things appear to have been tweaked in the cabin. Nice to see the assembly atelier is about ready too.
KAS-118 229
It really does look fantastic - not only on the outside but the in - hopefully we'll see a lot of this in the forthcoming models. Thought it was interesting they stacked the batteries - I wasn't expecting that

The Pits 4,410
Hope the production cars keep the 'old' Lotus logo. Looks amazing in carbon fibre. Shame the illumated Lotus letters at the back won't be allowed on production cars. You'd think if they were allowed to do the 'T' as a reversing light they could argue a case for allowing all of the letters? Or is there something in the rules about it being a single light source?
Bibs 11,375
I think all lights on the rear of the car need to be red, apart from reverse of course. Gold FFM C8RKH 6,402 Posted February 19, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 19, 2020 Nothing stopping the Lotus letters being illuminated when charging, unlocking the car etc. Just not when driving/in motion. 1 Quote Alcohol. The Pits 4,410
I don’t believe they’ve sold 130 for a second but they have to play the game as everybody else does. Best way to sell a hypercar is to tell a billionaire he can’t have one. Then lest him stew for a bit before telling him the good news that a build slot has become available if he’s quick and pays in full. Fantastic news for Lotus of course if they have sold 130 Evijas, it will get them off the hook financially and will allow them to forget all about the current range and focus entirely on what comes next. 130 Evijas would bring in the equivalent of over 3000 Evora GT410s. Bravo73 1,337
FWIW, the email said ‘first year’s production allocation.’ I don’t think that they were planning on building all 130 in the first year.
The Pits 4,410
MSN article claimed that all 130 were spoken for. But I don’t believe they have sold this year’s allocation either! I’d be amazed if deposits have reached double figures to date but we’ll never know the real number so all we can do is hope that it’s more successful than the T125 programme which is the closest thing Lotus have done to date. mdavies 76
Despite my "cars list" showing long term Lotus support, I feel no awkwardness in posting here what seems to be a new video out today. The Evija is so far outside both my interest and my finances that I stand detached from it. Being a member of the £2m car class would do nothing for my interest in the Evija; it would though take me well beyond merely viewing a video on the Czinger 21C. Modern engineering indeed, whatever the Evija does or does not offer in that respect.

The name has religious significance in the Judeo, Christian, Muslim tradition, after the use of Eve as the female companion of the Biblical Adam. Its use as a first name in England began in the 12th Century. “Eva”, popular in many European countries, “Eve” used as an anglicized form of Gaelic Aoife "radiant, beautiful" in Scotland and Ireland and “Evie” source: http://www.name-doctor.com/name-evija-meaning-of-evija-51912.html Mmmm... I'm likely way too late to this party, but is this Hebrew thing just pure PR? I mean, you read EVIJA backwards and it is AJIVE, then twist the "J" as you would see it in a mirror and it becomes ALIVE . . .

Gold FFM C8RKH 6,402 Posted February 24, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 24, 2020 That Chassis and those suspension components are just pure art! If I could afford the car I'd buy a chassis and the suspension arms etc just to mount on the wall or hang from a ceiling. It's a stunning piece of engineering artwork to my eyes. 2 Quote Alcohol. electro_boy 227
It's amazing that the wishbones designed by a computer end up looking more artful and organic than when designed by a human! I remember reading about this technology a few years ago and the article showed the wishbone design as an example but they did not mention it was for genuine car. Great to see the tech matured and is being used in a real life application. Also for the amount of non conventional technology and the performance on offer it seems like a bit of a (relative) bargain.

Much worse as it is an integral part of the whole car really - but in 40 years I'll be long gone so don't give a shit! lol..... I do love the technology though and am hoping that this coming into the mainstream will allow the 3d printing of parts in the future, at a realistic cost, for no longer available OEM parts so we can keep all the old masters going. Gold FFM C8RKH 6,402 Posted March 7, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 7, 2020 I had posted several months ago that I had been told Lotus had taken a lot of deposits. Really pleased for them. Hopefully they can now start to focus on the other new/current cars. 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies!
