Interior Noise From Leather Driving Me Nuts....

Recommended Posts

I am very happy with this s4s so far. It performes very well and is a pleasure to drive. But....

Since 4 weeks I am getting very disturbing noise from the middle console. The leather trimming is rubbing against each other and it creates a symphony of sqeaking and gnarling and rubbing and...

I need to pack some thick paper stripes in between to get rid of the noise -but this cant be the final solution.

So if someone could point me in the right direction where to tighten the right screws or how to treat the leather so that it will stop to generate those sounds?

Thank you very much,

I am very afraid using some leather Treatments - I had some bad experiences (change in color and "fatty" look)The leather is light brownish so you will see any unprofessional work on it ;)

Scary ......

The best leather replenisher i have ever used is called Renpur. made from pure beeswax and dosn't leave a waxy look...... forget where i got but I am sure a goole search will uncover it for you. I had full length leather riding jacket that hadnt seen use for a while, after a treatment it was back to new and felt great.

do I have to dismantle the dashboard for this? I think I have to go inbetween to the middle console.

Hmmmm very complex.....
