I've replaced my S4 flywheel with a stock replacement, because my original one had been ground down beyond tolerance. I'm not sure if it would be of any use, or if it would even fit an S4S . . . ?

Hi Mike,

IMHO you should replace it with a stock S/SE/S4 flywheel one if you cannnot get hold of a S4s one.

I personally believe that there is no weight (=inertia) difference between the S4s/S300 and the S/SE/S4 flywheel. Does anybody know for sure ?

The benefits from replacing it with a S/SE/S4 flywheel is that you can use a good, reliable, easy to operate clutch. I would recommend to fit a +35% clutch and you will have trouble free service for a long time.

The S4s Flywheel is quite a bit different from the S4/SE I have physically inspected both. The S4s is thinner, quite a bit lighter and uses a higher spec clutch cover (I believe 8400NM as opposed to 7400NM for the S4/SE). I have not ruled out using an S4 flywheel with a uprated clutch cover though.

I have decided to go down the route of having the flywheel re-ground however I believe the friction surface is metal sprayed, does anyone know of a clutch flywheel specialist I can talk to about what sort of coating should and could be added to the friction surface once it has been re machined.
