I could do another small run if the was interest. @jonnyboy If you are producing some more of these I'd like a set if possible. I'll pm you to confirm details. Thanks! As a 410 owner I agreed with them re the 400 as the best all rounder. I do though hanker after my old NA. That car was just so communicative and just right on UK roads. I love my 410, but would go back to an NA too, it is the best driving car of the lot. Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I’m going to take stock after our trip to the IOM this year about whether the 400 will stay and/or what might replace it. Had considered a 220 sport but think an Evora is more me, but which one and is it worth changing. Oh first world problems 🤣 1 Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable. Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone. And you happen to have an automatic Evora 400. Car share? 😂 1

There aren’t many NA’s in Australia, but I have two friends with S,s and they love them, If I get the offer to try one I will just to broaden my appreciation of the EVORA range. Gold FFM C8RKH Posted June 20, 2019 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 20, 2019 The NA is just unique. You can really grab it, ring its neck on the road and you feel the car. It becomes an extension of you. The steering and suspension are purrrfect. You have to work the engine, you feel it move on to the second cam, you feel the car come alive and the tyres just talk to you. Sure, an S or 4xx is faster, and a lot faster on the track, but if you really want to be at one with a car. To feel like you are integrated with it. Then the S is toxic. It's like crack cocaine.... I mean, I'm craving my next fix still after 16 months! 1 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. LotusLeftLotusRight
I also think the brakes feel more impressive on the NA due to the lower weight. Those on my old LE were the most effective I have ever experienced on a road car. Stamp hard on those and you'll detach your retinas. Well those are an interesting couple of posts as I've spent the last 48 hours looking at whether I'd want to move to a 400 in the next few months. Is it rose-tinted though? I mean, switching to an Evora for the first time is obviously going to have the biggest impact, and the biggest impression. Subsequently moving to a 400 is less so, as its more of smaller evolution, rather than that revolutionary first Evora. Be interesting to see if you still felt the same after driving the NA for a bit after the 400.

After that I think that the only other difference are the springs (the shocks are still the standard Bilsteins). If you want to use the rear seats, you couldn’t have the carbon seats so you’d have to have the standard Sparcos anyway. Opposite, springs are the same but the Bilsteins are an upgraded sport shock with bottom spring perches lowered 5mm
Gold FFM andyj007 Posted June 21, 2019 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 21, 2019 with 400's twice the price of N/A you have to say N/A represent damn good value...they are seriously good cars.. ive given the upgrading some serious thought of late, and wonder if id be thinking after upgrading that it wasnt perhaps such a good idea as i thought it might be... hmmn

However having said that as long as the upgrade is "unboltable" back to original there is no harm in doing them. Just keep the original parts whatever they may be. If I was to do an upgrade to an original NA, factory options can be a good thing to have, for me even though it wasn't an option I love the GTE front look as a Bolt on. I had this thought when I very nearly bought a 430 exige. Decided I could do a bunch of fun stuff to my car and justify another whole car to the wife, all for the same money. i personally love the S1 evora, great looking car.

Even if you do not refer to logic: I think its a good idea to ask yourself if the money for the different car is a proportional amount to the fun of driving. I guess the answer is in the most cases "no".....The NA has more power "needed" for normal roads, I would have bought a used one if I had fou d a proper one in 2011/12. I ended up with a new "S" , If I wanted to change the car today it would cost me more nearly the same amount of money the car had cost in 2012 a n d my old car. Streets over here in Germany are mostly overcrowded, no more power needed (interiorwise I like the S1 more, with all patrs covered in leather, skid plates with the flag in the sills, but just a matter of taste of course). Also: If you have "niggled" out the small deficits we all know from time to time, no need to go through that process again with another or new car, just my 2p

At the end of the day the new car will always retain the reason you changed it in the first place. Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.
