Lotus Esprit S3 In Calypso Red

Year – 1985 ‘C’ Reg

Mileage – Just over 85000

Magazine featured (Classic & Sportscar January 2003) both on the front cover and a double spread page inside.

Bought this car about 3 months ago as a light restoration project after been stood since about 2005. The garage we bought it off told us that the previous owner took it to them for an M.O.T, went abroad and the car has been left at the garage until now – He decided to sell so garage was selling on Behalf if previous owner.

V5 present and in our name. Currently has no history but trying to get in contact with previous owner to see if they still have it.

We believe that this car is totally original. Engine bay surround is in immaculate condition – shows no signs of engine being previously removed. Even has the original roof wind deflector which is rare.

Interior is in excellent original condition. Leather still very soft but does have a small tear to drivers seat. Gear lever leather gaitor has wear normal for a car with this mileage.

Glass sunroof. All 4 tyres are in good condition

All electrics work – Mirrors, headlights, heater, windows

Engine has had new oil, filter, cambelt and water pump belt. Carbs are overhauled and engine started immediately. Fuel tanks look in very good condition still. All brakes have been checked Front and rear.

Paint job looks to be original and is in very good condition (has a lovely shine to it). However it does have blemishes and lacquer lift in areas with the bonnet and hatchback been the worst effected but doesn’t detract from the overall look of the car whatsoever.

MOT until April 2020

We have owned up to a dozen Esprits/Esprit Turbos but have never had one that starts and revs so effortlessly. Engine is very smooth and fires up instantly. Effortless drive, very fast and drives as a Lotus should.

Very sad to see it go as it is one of the best we have come across for originality and engine snoothness. However We simply don’t have the space and other projects force sale.

Real gem of a Lotus and would be the perfect entry level Lotus Esprit for someone who is lookin for an original, honest car to improve upon.

HPI Clear (Certificate to prove)

No time wasters/dreamers please

More than welcome to come and view

Many thanks
