flow lock valve S1Eclat

Recommended Posts

Hi all Ihave no fuel reaching carbs .Ihave half tank fuel Iam running a lucas electric pump which is working fine and has been for months .I have removed pipe from carb and Ihave no fuel so I assume the flowlock valve has given up .As Ihave newly rebuilt carbs with functioning floats and needle valves I see no reason to have this in place as the pump only runs with ignition on and the needle valve shuts off fuel supply when the carb bowl is filled.Am I right in thinking Ican do away with this

In theory you can do without it, but if the needle valves ever stick open for whatever reason and maybe you're parked on a hill, the fuel tank empties itself via the carbs until the levels are similar!

I'm not sure about disabling a safety feature on a car. It could have an effect in future ownership.

See if yours is working by seeing if you get 12v at the terminal, when the ignition is on.

you'll hear a clunk.

I think I the valve is only £20.

I’ve added one to my S1 eclat, I was prompted by accounts of airboxes dripping with fuel siphoning from the tank.

I used a valve from a LPG conversion specialists with a manual override, for about £20
