Input shaft

My circlip had rusted away and you could just pull the input shaft out of the gearbox...

You can see how it had started to push the bearing into the end of the crank...

So I fitted one of Harry's uprated circlips but I didn't fit the spacer behind the bearing in the crank as I was concerned how I would get the bearing out in future if I needed to. To remove the old one I packed it with grease and then hit a round bar into the hole to force the bearing out...

So I wasn't sure if that would work with a spacer behind it and with the new circlip is shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Hi, the spring load is so strong that eventually the input shaft will " drill " itself in the crank shaft.

I was wondering if there were any early indications like noises, juddering or vibrations etc so corrective action could be taken before the crankshaft and other components got ruined.
